4 suspects. 8 controls.RunningWithScissors » 28 Aug 2022, 11:46 am » wrote: ↑ You have 2 chances left. If you put yellow marbles on both sides, then you don't determine weight, bc you don't know if it's heavier or lighter. It can be either. That's why you have to put them on the same side, bc that will determine weight.
It means you have only 3 suspects - the two on the left and the one on the right. Once you find the odd man, you know from which side it was on whether the odd man is lighter or heavier. And you find the odd man by pitting the two from side a against each other. If side a was lighter, then the lighter marble is the culprit - solved. If heavier then the heavier is the culprit - solved. If they are even, then the odd man out is on side b, and is either heavier or lighter based on whether side b was heavier or lighter.RunningWithScissors » 28 Aug 2022, 11:49 am » wrote: ↑ So step 1 is even.
Step 2, you put 2 yellows on the left, one on the right, and remove and move the others, which doesn't matter at this point since they are equal. You're still weighing 4x4.
The scale goes up on the left and down on the right.
What does that mean?
I knew you would see it, once you looked directly at it without comparing it to the solution you had already worked out which determines the heavier vs. lighter issue at different stage. The cut is different, but the rules are satisfied.RunningWithScissors » 28 Aug 2022, 11:58 am » wrote: ↑ You know what??? You're absolutely right!!!! Hi fives!!!!
You're a genius!!!! I was stuck on determining the weight of the last 3 on the 2nd step.

You're not as dumb as you look! :-) Hi fives!!!!
LOL! Very impressed! Good job!!!Cannonpointer » 28 Aug 2022, 12:12 pm » wrote: ↑ Thank you for the challenge, and for insisting that I do the work, rather than giving me the easy answer - and almost no one is as dumb as I look.

I can finally stop doing the poses from Walk Like an Egyptian, when trying to work it out in my head using my hands as scales.... :-)

OK, this is really funny and weird! I had to wait for verification from my best friends in NY....
chpices add together, evolving changes the time each addition arrives now. Simple compounding interest relative time scenarios and money theories project life to be more than all that remains currently combined forward now.RunningWithScissors » 28 Aug 2022, 10:17 am » wrote: ↑ I mean, I spent around $70k on my wedding and honeymoon. Unless you're rich like Ben Affleck and can afford stuff like that every year, subsequent girlfriends/wives have to settle for some flowers and chocolate. It doesn't go over well with the new babes. So you're **** every Feb 14.... Big arguments....

Adapt or become extinct isn't just survival of the fittest, it is being honest about how and why one is specifically here as a replacement of 30 previous members of prior ancestry.
Anyone you add is 50% your DNA as children, 25% when your children have children, 12.5% when your grandchildren have children or not. Is actual life triggering your instinctive awareness again, yet or did you trade your ancestral sole time to believe your character role playing is an immortal contextual soul?
so now the puzzle is a riddle. You are a disciple of manifested doubt demanding every next generation obey what previous generations believed possible never accepting life as simple evolving as eternally separated now.Cannonpointer » 28 Aug 2022, 3:30 pm » wrote: ↑ Whatev, dude. You didn't solve the riddle; I did. So save the "heavy" **** for another day or another thread. In THIS thread, you're just a noisy also-ran.

riddle me this, what was the original sin humanity supports globally here now using "free will" to create self fulfilling prophecies through plausible deniability and planned obsolescence used against the governed to believe life originates beyond mutually evolving here now.
back to puzzle. it is two dimension logic that leaves out a bit of information placed in original post and that was the part about the odd marble being lighter or heavier than the other 11.Cannonpointer » 28 Aug 2022, 3:36 pm » wrote: ↑ No, I'm just the guy who solved the riddle, and you're just the guy doing all the talking. :)
I fully admit to losing interest quickly.Cannonpointer » 28 Aug 2022, 3:36 pm » wrote: ↑ No, I'm just the guy who solved the riddle, and you're just the guy doing all the talking.
