It is NEVER worth it.
It is a favor for in the end. Not for me... the guy getting rid of the tree.

For cutting 17" long rounds, ear protection is all I use.
It's not like there's any way to otherwise avoid hearing loss.
Some would think no eye protection is crazy, I know.
When I work funny angles in the woods I have a Stihl helmet.
