Yet, he seems to have no problem with THC in Marijuana.  While I agree that Nicotine is a **** drug that should never have been engineered into high doses in tobacco, Marijuana is just as bad.

By the way  . . .  do you cultivate  your potatoes in your fields or do you buy them at the store ?

We buy ours at the store and we don't get that many rotten potatoes !
In fact  . . .  none really !

Just a couple of days ago we went deep into the Hyogo countryside to buy veggies  . . .  like I said before, no stores  . . .  just a shack where surrounding farmers display their veggies with handwritten prices on them  . . .  no attendants  . . .  just a box where we throw our money in.
Together with the handwritten prices, so the farmers know whose money belong to what farmer.

We bought a lot of stuff  . . .  and potatoes !
None was rotten !

The Devil has all forms of Temptation in our world to derail us from healthy living.  Drugs, alcohol, porn, gaming, tattoos, piercings, adultery, abortion, child abuse, even murder.  I do not believe that God intended for us to alter our brain chemistry to temporarily "feel good". There is always a price to pay, whether with money, time, your health, your mental health, or your life.

I had a fairly successful ecig business but saw this writing on the wall so I exited. I smoked a pack a day for 25 years. Father died of smoking related cancer and I was unable to keep a death bed promise I made to him, I couldn't quit smoking. Ecigs hit the scene a year after his passing and I used them to finally quit my addiction. This was years before vape shops and easy access at gas stations. Spent $5000 ordering a custom bulk supply of the devices from China and learned how to mix ejuice. Ended up selling a few thousand kits at near cost to kick start adoption and save the lives of hopelessly addicted smokers I saw lives saved, I saw hope restored. I saw big tobacco fight like hell to demonize the product as it was costing them souls.

This move isn't surprising. Kids will simply start smoking instead of vaping. Lives will be lost following our loss of freedom. Free to kill yourself if big tobacco makes a profit, not free to use a less harmful alternative.

Yeah, big tobac was NOT HAPPY with the freedom that the vape industry gave smokers. They had sold us candy cigarettes at cost when we were kids, they had advertized to us using characters and scenarios designed to gain our respect for smoking, they had paid studios to show smoking as a sophisticated thing to do. They bought us, they owned us - that was their reality.  And now, along comes the vape industry, **** with their profits! Not only that, but to add insult to injury, the vape industry was all privately held companies and mom-&-pop operations -actual free enterprise, - taking money AWAY from state sponsored socialist wall street and giving it to free enterprise main street.

While all of THIS was going on - wall street ordering their republican shiills to shut down main street for them, - I was on this board arguing with dick-suck repukes about "freedom" - which, to those queers, meant sticking up for people like bill gates, sticking up for big tobac's "right" to "earn" a profit. Potatos are on the dirty dozen. You want to go organic with those. Onions, cabbage, spears of grass - these you can go conventional. They're on the clean 15. But berries and taters - organic only. They have your neuro-toxins, give ya the old timers.

Except the part where it eases the suffering of kyancah patients, helps folks with Crones Disease, with neurological and metabolic diseases, with arthritus, with just about any issues arising from chronic inflammatory distresses, and otherwise defies your bigotry. 

I haven't smoked weed since I was a teenager - but I would never presume to decide for others. ANYTHING can be abused. Guns, for instance. But men of sense look to the ABUSER, not to the thing abused, when assigning blame. Prohibitionists are no different than gun grabbers - they just get all wet in the ****** over a different issue. 

Demonizing the inanimate is for the intellectully indolent. I have observed a tendency toward intellectual indolence in you. You prefer to let others do your thinking. Doesn't matter.  Alcohol is temptation. I never said it is evil in and of itself, just temptation into a pathway which sometimes leads to the dark ream. 

Also, It's not like they had refrigeration in Galilee.  How long would grape juice last there without refrigeration?  It's going to turn into wine whether you like it or not. It was probably more like a very sweet, rotten grape juice rather than what we call "wine".
 

Speaking as an ex-smoker, no one smokes except for the nicotine. Smoking has no real benefits, The first smoke in the morning produced a pleasant light headedness that faded away over about 20 minutes. And of course, it made me cough. Tobacco went well with even bad coffee.

My father smoked for most of his life. First Pall Malls, then Winstons, then Salems and after his second heart attack, King Sanos. When I was a kid, on Sundays we would go to my grandparent's house in Kansas City. Everyone smoked except my mother and my grandmother. My Uncle Jay smoked Luckies, his wife smoked Old Golds, my father smoked Pall Malls (pronounced 'pell mells for some wacky British reason) and my grandfather smoked Wings. Wings came with a four color card with the picture of an airplane on it and a description of the plane on the back. And he gave me the cards. I still have some of them, stored in the attic of my parents (now my sister's) house.

My father was sort of an alarm clock. He woke up coughing every morning. Hack hack hack. After he had his first heart attack at age 68, I decided to quit. The main reason was I was afflicted with emphysema and bronchitis. Before my father's first heart attack I caught the flu which came with unending fits of coughing, I was in Mexico City at the time. The first day I left the house to go to class, my sister called and told me about my father's heart attack. So I quit, I quit about five times over six months.

Cigarettes are addictive, but I think that American cigarettes at that time were laced with drugs to make them more addictive, because the Mexican cigarettes (the brands were Filtrón and Record) were easier to quit than the filtered Camels and Bull Durhams I smokes in the US. First you find it pleasant to sit next to a smoker (in Mexico nearly everyone on the 50 centavo buses smoked) After about three weeks, tobacco smoke started smelling nasty, and that made it easier. I don't think the cheapo Mexican brands had additives. Records and Filtrones were 2.50 pesos, the most popular brand was filtered, regular length Raleighs, which were 3.50. At the time the peso was 8¢ US 12.50 to the dollar.

My father refused to retire until he was 81. He had a second heart attack when he was 82 and the third one at age 86 killed him. His brother was an MD and quit when he heard tobacco was bad for you, around 1928. He died at age 99½. I really doubt that Dad got 13 years worth of pleasure out of smoking.

So go ahead and quit, eventually you will feel better and notice that breathing is easier. Good luck.
