There is an agreed central body that was NOT automatic. The feds...
The fact that there were only enumerated powers granted to this body was what "sold" it.
But since then the federal government has gotten way deep into everything.
Relinquishing some overbearing (not enumerated) power back to the states is a good thing.
Just as before, though, SCOTUS still maintains that abortion is not disallowed by our constitution.
That hasn't changed, has it? Just as before, abortion is not a "right". Never was. It was just allowed.

My position is that body autonomy IS a right - both natural and enumerated (4th mendment).
And so is life. Including the life of a fetus. Neither side in this debte is making anything up.
The issue
cannot be whether a fetus has a right to life. You murder a pregnant woman, you catch a double homicide - and rightly so.
Nor can the issue be whether a woman has a right to control her body. That is a no-brainer (Well, it WAS, anyway, before covid. Now, the left wants to control women's bodies, poke them with things against their will).
So it comes down to competing rights - an extremely common thing in the world of law. I side with the actual member of the polity over the potential member, because I am a mature adult.
But, hey - we hve fifty states. People can pick and choose.
