Most adoption agencies are faith based and refuse to serve the lgbtqrstuv community. I have no issues with homosexual couples providing loving homes to kids, certainly has to be better than the State offered solution. If the alphabet people want to set up their own adoption services then the more the merrier

I am sure a loving gay couple could provide a better quality of life for a child than the state. Not all the gays recruit or abuse children.

Ditto.  But, I think it is really a states rights matter.

Notning in the constitution says that a State can't require people to obtain marriage licenses.  There are also state and federal anti-discrimination laws to contend with, which are Constitutional.  As much as I hate gay marriage, I'd say that it will be difficult if not impossible for States to outlaw it.

If someone can explain to me how marriage is not a state's rights matter, I'd love to hear it.

I wish I could find this article but read one awhile ago and it laid out how "marriage" has changed over the years. First, until the 1800's it was largely a business transaction. Second, only in the 1400's or so did the church come into it in Europe. In Asia, Africa, South America.. their versions of church were either only loosely connected or not at all. As for 2022, marriage is not so much about procreation as it is an emotional contract. A contract in which two law abiding adults can enter.
