So what do you have to say about Trump whisking away all of those WH top secret documents to his resort in Florida?Neo » 28 Jun 2022, 9:43 am » wrote: ↑Plenty of evidence Clinton and Biden used their offices for unjust enrichment. More evidence of that than Trump Russia collusion or January 6th being a failed coup attempt.
Being a Tucker sucking Fox sheep obviously I believe Trump broke no laws moving documents to his presidential home in Mara Lago while he enjoyed the powers of the office. We have a process for which the national archives can review and request the return of any documents they believe of national interest. That process was ongoing and does not include fbi raids or criminal penalties.Misty » 17 Oct 2022, 3:56 am » wrote: ↑ So what do you have to say about Trump whisking away all of those WH top secret documents to his resort in Florida?
I haven't been around, so I don't know.
Do the MAGAs defend that **** as perfectly innocent too?
The process was ONGOING? No, the FACTS are that there were several requests for the return of the STOLEN documents, Trump and Co. LIED by saying they were all returned, and the government became extremely concerned not only as to which documents he'd failed to return, but also as to his INTENT for keeping them. Furthermore, when Trump was made aware they were coming he proceeded to have documents MOVED in order to conceal their whereabouts and thereby OBSTRUCT JUSTICE.Neo » 17 Oct 2022, 7:19 am » wrote: ↑ Being a Tucker sucking Fox sheep obviously I believe Trump broke no laws moving documents to his presidential home in Mara Lago while he enjoyed the powers of the office. I believe this will be another failed attempt at "getting Trump" and one that sets a very bad precedent. I remember progressive screaming for years that a sitting president could be indicted. Lets see if that strong support remains when the Bidens are charged with selling access and favors to foreign companies and governments during Joe's vice presidential term.
No justice to obstruct. No criminal penalties are associated with the presidential records act. They should have just continued to ask nicely. Raid was pointless political theater.B.See » 17 Oct 2022, 9:38 am » wrote: ↑ The process was ONGOING? The are several however associated with violations of The Espionage Act. But then again, there are MANYcrimes Trump can be charged with (as noted in NUMEROUS threads above).Neo » 17 Oct 2022, 9:42 am » wrote: ↑ No justice to obstruct. Well, we'll see. Appreciate your keeping it on topic and civil. We'll have to agree to disagree.Neo » 17 Oct 2022, 9:59 am » wrote: ↑ You got him now!!
All comes down to whether or not he had authority to move the documents while president. He did. Getting them back is a process. Obstruction of this process isn't espionage or criminally punishable. If he loses he doesn't go to jail, he just doesn't get the documents back. Being that some of the documents were regarding the fbis questionable actions in promoting the false Russia collusion narrative it will be argued that the raid itself was Obstruction of Justice.
