He was a cheapskate as a boss, according to his animators, and he did not give proper credit to his creative geniuses, as most of them have told us.
He got his start in Kansas City. He belonged to my father's Masonic Lodge. My father knew him fairly well, though they were not friends.
The idea for a safe friendly family theme park originated with Kansas City's Fairyland Park, which was at not safe all and filled with dishonest carney games and all manner of greasy spoon food stalls it was at least partly run by gangsters and had unsafe rides that killed dozens over the years. Disney's original idea was a park where you paid one price and could ride anything as often as you wished. This has changed over the years.
Walt's idea was to make tons of money and provide safe entertainment. I can't imagine why he would be disappointed about his performance today.
Go to the library and check out any one of several unofficial biographies of Disney. His life story is quite interesting.

So you think most parents are in favor of their children being groomed.Xavier_Onassis » 04 Jul 2022, 11:28 am » wrote: ↑ Their target market for the parks is people with children, and most people with children are NOT in favor of "don't say gay" laws, and do not care one whit about whether Disney gets to politically control the Reedy Creek Improvement District or not.
The entire stock market, both bonds and stock are down/ Even gold and cybercurrencies are way down. The market is not based on earnings of the companies involved: it is based on what some people THINK OTHER investors will invest in based on future prospects.
Many investors believe that high gasoline and rising motel prices will result in fewer visitors to Disney. Will Disney go broke? Not much chance of that. They still have Pixar and their own films and YUGE amounts of real estate.
How do you make money on the stock market? Buy low, sell high.
Disney is selling at a rather low price. It is almost a sure thing that the price will rise sharply at some time in the future. Certainly within the next three years.

I believe Disney had his own academy to train "THE DISNEY WAY" to the best artists he could get.
Thousands of acetate paintings / overlays..just a mind boggling amount of creativity, direction and cooperation to produce those incredible works of genius.
I am a fan of the EARLY POPEYE fully animated cartoons too.

here is some more of my sarcasm, everyone stuck between pays the cost for both being a boss in reality over real displacement.Cannonpointer » 04 Jul 2022, 8:06 pm » wrote: ↑ It still certainly APPEARS that dabbling in politics is bad for business.
I think we can ALL agree - even pathological disney defenders like yourself - that it did not IMPROVE their business prospects. At BEST, Disney trying to bully an elected governor had a neutral outcome. No matter what, Disney did not profit from it.
But Desantis did. Snicker.
