My rifle expert rating was earned in the late spring of 1969 on recruit rifle qualifying day at Camp Pendleton California, when I put all 10 rounds into the Pendleton rifle range target silhouette (of a head and shoulders) from 500 yards prone poistion.
I was not an officer. My rank when discharged from the Corps in 1975 was E-5 sergeant.

I would say that the people of Uvalde could have elected a better sheriff.
