It has since emerged that the suspected gunman’s father, Bob Crimo, a longtime deli owner who previously ran a failed campaign for mayor of Highland Park, on May 27 “liked” a tweet that read: “Protect the Second Amendment like your life depends on it.”..His Twitter page indicates that the elder Crimo follows just one account — an archived account of former President Donald Trump.
Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter for “incitement of violence” just days after the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol.

I haven't followed this. Did the guy have a felony background, yet wasn't flagged by the mandatory background check? That's not good for BATFE. To be fair, only a conviction, etc., of a crime “punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year” would have flagged the guy. Usually this would be a felony, but could also include some misdemeanors.TB7 » 06 Jul 2022, 5:28 am » wrote: ↑ So once again the SIGNS WERE THERE IN NEON, and ignored once again. Information sharing was the failure of the system. The psych eval should have been enough to keep him from purchasing the guns. It’s not the fault of the gun or the gun store owner
Hmmm the ATF Form 4473 does the following: Background check process includes a search of all relevant in-state criminal records, mental health records, juvenile delinquency records, warrants, and protective order information. So we have a swing and a miss by the ATF on this one. Uh oh? Wonder who will be accountable now? And libs and lefties - please enlighten me on what new laws that YOU say we need will do? Somehow the existing format is NOT being followed, otherwise this would have been prevented.
In September 2019, a family member reported Crimo had a collection of knives and "was going to kill everyone," Covelli said. Police responded to the incident and seized 16 knives, a dagger, and a sword from Crimo’s possession, Covelli said. Highland Park police notified Illinois State Police of the incident but no further actions were taken.Skans » 06 Jul 2022, 10:44 am » wrote: ↑ I haven't followed this. see, that's the kind of guy i am....looking out for fellow citizens
Sounds like no arrests or charges. Certainly no conviction. Not something that would show up on any background check. Nor should it, in my opinion. I'm not even sure what the basis was for the cops to take the knives.TB7 » 06 Jul 2022, 11:10 am » wrote: ↑ In September 2019, a family member reported Crimo had a collection of knives and "was going to kill everyone," Covelli said. They will even grind up the limbs and chunk the trunks into 16 inchers...!
Many years ago I had a huge Maple that threatened a Power Pole.
They sent out a couple of SCABBY PUNKS who looked just like Beavis & Butthead.
They showed up in a beat up foreign car and all they had for equipment was a home made safety harness out of rope and an old chainsaw.
I didn't watch them in action because I had to go to work.
All I know is they GOT ER DONE without killing themselves and earned their CRACK MONEY for the day.
Turns out the father
The police issued the FID.Blackvegetable » 06 Jul 2022, 2:28 pm » wrote: ↑ Turns out the father
Insisted on the return of the knives confiscated after police were called to the home because Little 3 Sticks was threatening to kill himself, then everyone else (yea...I know....but these are ammosexuals).
signed the affidavit that allowed Junior to get an FID.
I hope 2 Sticks is sued into penury.
On the strength of 2 Stick's sworn statement.
So they just blindly went with that over their own history with the retard?Blackvegetable » 07 Jul 2022, 7:18 am » wrote: ↑ On the strength of 2 Stick's sworn statement.

What’s that look like?
”Our records on this individual indicate he may be unstable with a penchant for violence, Oh look his father says it’s cool, never mind, issue the FID.”
Perhaps his father is an idiot, that doesn’t let the government off the hook, Illinois has red flag laws, how’d that work out?
