Shower cap is an idiot and you are an idiot for using him as your influencer.  The laws in question are state and local laws implemented by the democrats that run those areas.  And as far as long guns go the state laws are more strict than Fed.

What made it possible was the gun laws in Illinois. You are getting into topics that we now above head. 

And since that law was all about looks you would have rifles like this that are capable of the same thing.

A long time ago, I worked in a nursing home that had an Alzheimer's unit. They repeat the same questions everyday as if it was the first time they had asked. Which we always gave the same answer. This is what is happening with you.

@Blackvegetable   doesn’t realize that at any point a state could have instituted strict laws for gun ownership.  And they did.  Their rules are stricter than many other states.

Not relevant to this discussion.  The fact remains the state can always add laws concerning the process of purchasing a firearm.

It depends on the law.  Look at CA.  In NY only ONE provision was struck down.  The one you hade to show cause to carry.  All the other very restrictive laws remain.
