I know France and the UK are somewhat militarily capable, I don't know the other two. Still, Europe depends heavily on the United States to keep the peace. Russia also just invaded Ukraine if you didn't notice. They must have some sort of ambition if they made that gambit.

Germany lost its military after WW2. I think Italy did too. Turkey does but they lost their nukes after the Cuban missile crisis. They do sell arms to Ukraine, have a highly capable military but aren't traditionally considered Europe. By the way the sky is blue and Russia invaded Ukraine.

The sky is blue and russia sent in peace keepers. That is not an invasion. It's humanitarian assistance to stop a genocide.

Has it occurred to you at all that russia may be about the perfectly respectable and acceptable business of mere regime change?

Stopping Ukrainian strongman Zelensky's nazi units from slaughtering civilians is NOT an "invasion." At most, it's an expedition.

the anything else is plausible angle. Wasn't Zelenski's people the ones that would give Trump the information about Hunter Biden and the previous administration that hired Hunter?

The Russians are clearly the aggressors here. Ukraine, as a sovereign nation, has the power to ally itself with whomever its citizens wish, or not.  Russia does not have any moral power over Ukraine.

Russia is a potential threat to the US and the EU. If it overpowers and makes a puppet of Ukraine (as has been done with Belarus), then Russia is more powerful, and can use food produced by Ukraine as a weapon.

Putin is a totally unwholesome tyrant. Anything that limits his power will make for a more peaceful and stable world, both economically and politically.

Monarchies have also failed, and dictatorships have a tendency to be defeated by other internal forces that then turn into dictatorships.


Since WWII, vastly more democracies have been created than have failed.
I suppose one could say that Gorbachev's attempt to democratize the USSR failed, as did Boris Yeltsin's, But several of the former Soviet Republics- Georgia, Moldova, Armenia and certainly far more democratic than they once were, and the Baltic nations- Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania are indisputably democratic.
Hungary seems to be headed towards more of a dictatorship, but Poland, Chechia, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia are all more democratic.

To suggest that because "democracies fail", people should give up on the idea of having a democracy should be abandoned is rather insane.
