You can make up all the idiotic definitions you want, but energy independence has NOTHING TO DO with setting prices for fossil fuel energy. Every country is free to set their own prices within their country whether they are exporters or not, BUT they sell their oil and gas to others at FREE MARKET PRICES. The price of gas in Iran is about $1.44 per gallon and they are net exporters, but they earn much more than that on their oil exports. They simply choose to appease their citizenry by making it cheaper than what the rest of the world pays for their oil coming from Iran. ANY country can subsidize the cost of gas if they want to for themselves.Xavier_Onassis » 18 Jul 2022, 8:35 am » wrote: ↑ This is NOT about Socialism, it is about logic.
If you are FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT. what does that mean?
It means that you have enough money to cover at a minimum, all your expenses, and have the ability to select from whom you buy the things you need.
It does NOT MEAN that you have the ability to BORROW enough money to cover at a minimum all of your expenses.
If a country is ENERGY INDEPENDENT, it means that the country produces, at a minimum, all the energy that it consumes and can SET THE PRICE of that energy.
You do not comprehend what is meant by Energy Independent.
The US has never been energy independent. The people and government do not control the corporations that produce energy. The prices have always been set by market forces. (This may not have been true during WWII, because the government rationed gasoline and some other petroleum products.
No dickhead, from my own education (which was far better than yours) and from my 50+ years as a business owner watching and using economic laws to survive and grow those businesses.
So why are you too ashamed to name the institution where you honed all this talent?Zeets2 » 18 Jul 2022, 1:59 pm » wrote: ↑ No dickhead, from my own education (which was far better than yours) and from my 50+ years as a business owner watching and using economic laws to survive and grow those businesses.
More likely, you're too dumb to understand it, just like your fellow commie Xavier.
So what, exactly is the point of yammering about "Energy Independence"?Zeets2 » 18 Jul 2022, 1:55 pm » wrote: ↑ You can make up all the idiotic definitions you want, but energy independence has NOTHING TO DO with setting prices for fossil fuel energy. Show me where you found the definition that shows that a country cannot be considered energy independent if it doesn't set prices differently than market prices. Any country which has sufficient energy for it's own need IS ENERGY INDEPENDENT, and it has NOTHING to do with prices!
We WERE energy independent under Trump, and there's no doubt you ignorant liberals HATED that fact for no other reason than you hated Trump, and you'd rather see the country suffering under $6 a gallon gas and being thrust into a recession than to give him credit for the great strides he made making us ENERGY INDEPENDENT!
More like "understand that it is meaningless"...Zeets2 » 18 Jul 2022, 2:02 pm » wrote: ↑ More likely, you're too dumb to understand it, just like your fellow commie Xavier.
I'm not the least bit ashamed of it. Why would I be when I use that education to help kick your dumb *** all around the room right here on a daily basis? I just have no desire to share personal information with dopes like you!Blackvegetable » 18 Jul 2022, 2:01 pm » wrote: ↑ So why are you too ashamed to name the institution where you honed all this talent?
Wait, wait, are you REALLY going to attempt to claim that Biden's "accomplishments" have been better than President Trumps?!??!?Blackvegetable » 18 Jul 2022, 2:03 pm » wrote: ↑ So what, exactly is the point of yammering about "Energy Independence"?
My guess is that when you are dealing with an administration so utterly lacking in accomplishment, you gotta cling to something,

The fact that you're dumb enough to do so, on top of furnishing hundreds of strangers with pictures of your own property does nothing but prove what an absolute moron you truly are!
You wanna use measurables?Zeets2 » 18 Jul 2022, 2:10 pm » wrote: ↑ Wait, wait, are you REALLY going to attempt to claim that Biden's "accomplishments" have been better than President Trumps?!??!?![]()

Like Employment and GDP?
For the institution's safety from whackjob idealists like you. Had you any instinctive skills you could probably critically think your way to that institution, but the mind you chose to keep since adolescence hasn't matured like your brain has in ignoring actual life.Blackvegetable » 18 Jul 2022, 2:01 pm » wrote: ↑ So why are you too ashamed to name the institution where you honed all this talent?
And the economy will only go into the dump if republicans win in nov. 3.Xavier_Onassis » 18 Jul 2022, 4:12 pm » wrote: ↑ This country is producing more oil today than it was when Trump crowed about "Energy Independence", and it is still not enough. You clowns are aggressively ignorant and seem to adore parroting the FigPlucker.
Although total U.S. oil production declined between 1985 and 2008, annual production increased nearly every year from 2009 through 2019, reaching the highest amount on record in 2019. The Dominant Oil Producing States Impressively, 71% of total U.S. oil production came from just five states.Xavier_Onassis » 18 Jul 2022, 4:12 pm » wrote: ↑ This country is producing more oil today than it was when Trump crowed about "Energy Independence", and it is still not enough.
