‘Scary as hell’: GOP pollster spooked by survey showing Republicans drifting away from democracy
A new survey shows Republicans are more likely than any other political group to reject the results of a losing election, and a veteran pollster expressed alarm at those findings.
The new poll conducted by Yahoo News and YouGov found just 43 percent of Republicans say political candidates who got fewer votes should concede their loss, compared to 74 percent of Democrats and 57 percent of independents, and Republican pollster Frank Luntz told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" those results were chilling.
"Scary as hell," Luntz said. "I'm here at the Conservative Party Conference [in the United Kingdom], trying to say to them, be very careful what you wish for, be very careful of what kind of campaign you hold because you could end up like the U.S."

Within a few weeks of the Jan. 6 insurrection, it became crystal clear that the Republican Party, by openly embracing both Donald Trump’s Big Lie that fueled the violent attack on democracy and the mob of far-right “Patriots” who undertook it, had ceased to be a viable partner in American democracy.That reality has become fully manifest now, 22 months later on the brink of the midterm elections, as the majority of GOP candidates around the nation—nearly 300 of them—have declared themselves unapologetic election denialists.
Democracy itself is plainly under assault from these denialists (and by extension, the Republican Party).
But few of its defenders have a clear view of the larger strategy, involving a menu of varying tactics, being deployed in this attack.

Haven't a clue which of my posts your commentary is referencing... perhaps none in particular. But since you threw that commentary up for grabs, I think it safe to say that politicians of both parties have engaged in such.
But the DEGREE TO WHICH THE MAGA RIGHT has done all the above and MORE, including their incitement of HATE, RACISM, WHITE SUPREMACY, ANTI-SEMITISM,ANTI-GAY, ANTI-WOMEN sentiment and policymaking, the DEGREE TO WHICH a vast majority of Republicans have sanctioned VIOLENT OVERTHROW OF GOVERNMENT, and their siding with Putin's ATROCITIES IN THE UKRAINE, makes any attempt of both-siding the two parties DISINGENUOUS - AT BEST.
The FACT that Trump supporters and his MAGA RIGHT are perfectly OKAY with Putin's reported ATROCITIES in Ukraine tells ME that they'd ALSO BE PERFECTLY OKAY WITH ATROCITIES RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA, against minorities, gays, people of other faiths and EVERYONE ELSE they consider at something OTHER.

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee is the major investigative unit in the House. Yesterday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy loaded it with people who enabled Donald Trump’s attempted coup in the months after the 2020 election.
They have also called for violence against their political enemies, embraced conspiracy theories, and associated with white supremacists.
McCarthy’s move is the most cynical act of political thuggery since Trump left the White House. Not coincidentally, it is designed to advance Trump’s re-election and his anti-democracy agenda.
The people McCarthy put on the committee include Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Paul Gosar of Arizona, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Russell Fry of South Carolina, and Anna Paulina Luna of Florida.
To describe them as “conservative” or “extremist” misses the essence of what they’ve done and believe.
They are authoritarians who have deep contempt for American democracy.

Poor fool still doesn't get that America is not a democracy.
At least the U.S. isn't, and never was. Ours is a constitutional/representative republic that respects the rights of minorities and minority views.
