Years after Kathy Griffin shaved her head in solidarity with her sister who was undergoing chemotherapy, the comedian and actress has announced she has lung cancer.

 “I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer,” Griffin began a note posted Monday on her verified Instagram account.

“I’m about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed,” the note continued.

Do I feel sorry for her? no.

did I wish she would die a horrible death, no.

I really just forgot about her, as that out of sight, out of mind with my brain being busy navigating living as eternally separated daily. I have to fix my own mistakes like trusting humanity first 33% of my lifetime, staying silent second 33% of my lifetime trying to figure out where missing links to self evident living were at.

this last 33% of my time, explaining what I learned without invading everyone's space face to face about it. Just little message boards in technology used to keep corruption running smoothly until extinction arrives.

In August 2021, she announced that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer although she is not a smoker, and needed to have half of her left lung removed. She underwent surgery the same month. In April 2023, Griffin revealed she was diagnosed with an "extreme case" of complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
