Trump wasn't joking with Zelensky, he was requesting a criminal investigation into someone running for high political office for alleged crimes committed in his country. An investigation that would obviously be in the national interest.

He wan't requesting, he was requiring that the state that they're investigating Hunter Biden in order to get the funding.  It was blackmail.  Trump used this tactic more than once when he tried to get the FBI to state they were investigating voter fraud in the 2020 election.  He fired Barr when he wouldn't go along with his conspiracy theories.

OMB paused the aid for a corruption review at the direction of the executive. Happened hundreds of times in the past. Trump had every reason, including a tape where Biden bragged about threatening to withhold a billion dollars if Ukraine didn't fire a prosecutor who uncoincidentally was investigating a company where his son was on the board, to ask for a corruption investigation. 
 
There is a difference of opinion. If you believe that an investigation into the Bidens shady activities in Ukraine was in the national interest then there was no crime. If you believe that the requested investigation was only to benefit Trump's political ambitions then he is guilty.  I think the investigation was in the national interest.

Biden did exactly what he should have done in Ukraine, there is NO scandal there.
He acted in the interests of supporting democracy and independence from Russian pressure in Ukraine, which was precisely what most Ukrainians wanted.

Trump knew that taking those documents was illegal. The FBI was acting TOTALLY correctly in taking the official documents, which Trump had no business taking, out of his mansion.

Trump was totally guilty on all counts in both impeachments. The GOP REFUSED to allow the evidence to be presented.
