You are taking their money and using it in the school system, they should have a say and it is their children we are talking about ...
I think sometime the teachers forget that they are not the parents...
Well, this has been brought up in my first thread on the subject. And to a point it's a valid argument.NEILCAR » 20 Aug 2022, 5:55 am » wrote: ↑ Well, if parents want to go over to the school board and talk about what and how their children are being educated ... I am not sure I really care what the issue is, if most of the parents in one area do not want the school system to teach it ... that school system should respect the wishes of the very people they are taking the taxes from...B.See » 20 Aug 2022, 6:09 am » wrote: ↑ Well, this has been brought up in my first thread on the subject. However parents also need to realize that a school is comprised of students (well, most public schools at least) from various walks of life. Including some gay and transgendered kids. And laws that directly (or indirectly) demonize certain groups of kids infringe on the rights and well being of students (and their parents) who may not fit into the mold that right wingers are trying DICTATE to schools, teachers, and school boards.
If you, the voter, do not tell the school board how to do their job ... then who doesBlackvegetable » 20 Aug 2022, 6:26 am » wrote: ↑ Wait a minute.
My role in my kid's education was to enable and facilitate it.
I never spent a minute telling my local schools how to do their job. My kid doesn't struggle to multiply 16 x 7....like the **** of Grifty.
And I sure as hell don't want a legion of FOX nursing cretins involved.

Neil offers an "immediate example" with which he may be familiar.
I don't even know what the means, BV. But you do realize that in order for these PG thread rules to have any validity, I have to apply them fairly evenly to all.Blackvegetable » 20 Aug 2022, 7:06 am » wrote: ↑ Neil offers an "immediate example" with which he may be familiar.
