I guess they need to make certain number of arrests to show that they are working. In the situations like in Uvalde this is too dangerous. So they stayed back. Here it could be done safely so they proceeded.

If the guy had complied he wouldn't have gone through this ****. They probably didn't know he was homeless. I'm a veteran but if I were a cop and this guy argued with me I would have reacted the same way.

All she had to do was sign the thing and everything would have been fine. The cop was more than courteous to her until she got hostile.

We train these pigs to DE-escalate, and EVERY **** TIME they get the chance, they escalate.
Well, that is probably quite false - just the ones that make it to youtube. I'm confident that the youtube stuff is not representative. At least, not yet. But I don't like how things are trending.

I know whereof I speak. I've never been a cop - but I DID have a relative who was a committed career criminal.
He was taken out by police in what's referred to as an NHI killing: No Humans Involved. I was tasked with watching the body cam and advising the family on the likelihood of prevailing in a wrongful death suit. This was AFTER attorneys had turned down the case - some family members could not let it go, wanted to keep lawyer shopping. Wanted ME to find a lawyer - I'm "that guy" in my family. The guy you go to when you're stumped.
The body cam showed a preposterous veneer which - had the decedent not been a white version of George Floyd and every bit as guilty - any jury would have seen right through. But he WAS that white version of George Floyd, and the cop had just enough of a fig leaf to let a jury feel justified in turning a blind eye to an unlawful but understandable monster slaying. I told his widow and his mother to walk it off.
