A "request" gets a yes or  no - and accepts them. Obviously, you cannot even distinguish between a request and a demand. Your inability to make such a simple distinction betrays that you are arguing from emotion, rather than from logic. 

The authority I respect is the Constitution. The authority YOU respect is the uniform and badge. 

Seems to me, YOU are the one with "authority issues." You fetishize it, excuse it, side with it - but do not understand its provenance.

Someone called because they were concerned about someone they didn't know and a vehicle and didn't recognize in the neighbor's yard. 
Police can't ignore those calls, and just needed an ID to help clear up any confusion.

History has shown that black folks have reasonable paranoia when it comes to white folks.  Because in reality the white world is hostile to the black world.

 A Louisville cop has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in the Breonna Taylor case.  The warrant was illegally obtained.  The coppers had no right to be there. Without a legally obrained warrant there was no probable cause for them to be there.  That makes the killing a murder. 

Just like there was no probable cause for these asshole coppers to **** with the preacher.  If I'm out watering my neighbor's garden while they're on vacation in the Greek Islands, and one of my neighbors just can't seem to mind their own **** business and calls the cops, are the the cops gonna **** with me like this?  No they are not.  And if I have a problem with their **** attitude and tell them to get their goddamn commander out here, they are gonna STFU and get their commander.

 Local and state "stop and identify" laws are one step away from "zeig mir deine papiere."

Correct.  He didn't even have to do that, but if you don't you're just asking to be arrested.  Even the ACLU advises everybody to provide a name an address when asked by the cops, but that's it.  You don't have to answer any other questions.  They make take you in, but if no law has been broken they better have a good **** reason, suspicious activity is the reason typically copped by the cops.  The preacher?  He said who he was and where he lives and that he was asked by his neighbor to water the garden, so there's no suspicious activity...and now he's got a civil case against the police because there's no probable cause for an arrest because he's mouthy.  A couple of million bucks would have the city fathers instructing their racist asshole cops to cool their **** jets.

Y'know...this **** is the primary reason I stick around here.  It's a good thing to be aware of just what sort of assholes we decent folk have to deal with on a daily basis in this **** country.  I even watch FAUXNEWS every now and then.  It's a "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" sorta thing for me.  I've been ashamed of my race for a long time now...it started when I became aware of the racist driven war on the yellow man back in 1966.

Back in the 1970's I worked with a black guy named Chuck.  The only black guy I ever heard of who called himself Chuck.  Anyway were worked in the same department in this office for three maybe four years and we never socialized away from work but we got to be pretty good friends there on the job.  One day we were on a lunch run for some of the staff, in the car, talking about some **** or another, and all of a sudden Chuck looks at me and says, "You really don't care, do ya man."  Referring to our racial differences.  "No Chuck, I really don't care."

I dare say the gentleman's first name isn't pastor. He was being evasive and defensive. He deserved the obstruction charge and the peaceful slap on the wrist arrest.

He should have complied and listened to the officer, right Libbie's? I mean, when the officer said we got a call, and asked for I.D., why didn't the good pastor say something like....officer, i have no I.D. on me but my name is Pastor John Marcus Doe. My date of birth is 00/00/1960. Do you need my address? 

This would have been all over in a few minutes, with the police thanking the good pastor for his cooperation. 

His own neighbors/neighborhood reported him to the police.......let that sink in.
 
 

Every cop is an individual. Some cops are assholes, some cops are truly helpful, others are not. It is wrong to judge every member of a group as though he was identical.

The police in the USA are not really a group at all: they are an assortment of groups.
