OK...I got something to eat and I feel better now.    Image

After our walk this morning we hung out in the parking lot talking for a while.

The bass player said he has a Telecaster guitar he never uses so he's going to lend it to me for as long as I want cause I don't have any of my equipment anymore.

He's good with computers and he'll set up some guitar amp software for me. When it's up and running I'll start scanning Youtube for some new songs to learn.

Youtube has a feature where you can set the speed but not change tuning of a song. That will make it much easier to learn some new solos.

I'm hoping to get some of my old guitar chops out of moth balls and have some fun.  Might even start jamming with the boys again one of these days.   Image

What he's playing is similar to what is called chord-melody. That's when a jazz guitarist or similar plays a melody with chords rather than single line solo melody.

They mix melody with chords. I really like that style.   :)

I also admire finger picking. I can't do that.
If I was younger that's what I would like to learn.
think I may do a single line melody then. Cept i was taught that intro.
How do you play?

He's using both chord-melody and finger picking.

Learn some real simple stuff...you can still have fun.  It's finger licking good.     Image
