It really was a different time.. I liked this song when I was a kid, I couldn't really follow the lyrcis then but I can follow them now.. they still don't make any sense but that doesn't matter, it's a fun song...

I always liked that song as well. Cool riff, catchy beat, cool backup singer's scat too. This must be late 70's, because they sound like the 80's with the instrumentation and half white rap stuff and dress. Reminds me of The Cars, B-52s, Talking Heads, Devo, etc.

Bobby was a great singer. My teen years right there! 
Mac Davis wrote the song and sang it first in 1970, but I like Bobby's voice better. Both were greats though.

I rate that their #1 song. Liked it as a kid, and thought they must have been stuck in rainy, gray Seattle near me. I could relate!
