Here's an example...Jeff "Skunk" Baxter has played guitar in bands like Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, etc.
He did some studio work for Donna Summer and none of his guitars were at home at the time so he bought a $25 guitar at the local Guitar Center to do studio work for Donna Summer.
P.S. Jeff Baxter also worked with the DOD to develop weapons systems for national defense.

Had a beautiful sound.. I should have kept it. Some of these instruments.. I would sit on the floor and play them indian style ..
well.. I used to play my mob bosses Roland in the salad bar. It was a*** pretend*** restaurant. Plenty of time. Roalnd was huge.. It was a beautiful instrument. But it was like a piano. So a person really had to know. how to professionally play it.. I remember the day.. I was pizzed off at him..
