Was going to be St. Louis, Missouri but doing some shopping for hotels and discovered that they are considerably less pricey in Edmonton. Also, this way I do not have to go through Las Vegas on my way. Maybe it is just bad luck but my last two trips through that airport have been ****. A 16-hour delay and then a 28-hour delay... airports are not fun to hang out in. Could drive to Edmonton but that is 23 hours one way.
You know flying is getting to be nightmare.
I haven't flown in years.. back then it was nice and fun!  Just like everything else- turned into a nightmare. I dont think i would even attempt it these days.. being a hillybilly and all.

My only negative experiences with flying have been at the Las Vegas airport. Again, maybe just bad luck. Still, going to be fun. A way to recapture my youth.

I do laugh at those who attempt flying in the winter and then whine/bitch about it.  They know that there is this thing called weather. Snow, rain, wind.

I think deep down they know that they are being stupid. And then when their flights are delayed/cancelled, their bitching/pissing about it is really just buyers remorse. They knew it was a gamble and when it does not pay off... they only have themselves to blame. They can't say that, of course. We get the same stupidity with folks trying to drive over Donner Pass to Sacramento. Getting 2 feet of snow on a road with a 4 to 7% grade (elevation gain of about 3000) is nothing to sneeze at.

Well, should not encounter this issue in August 2024 but who knows.

Love the video. With snow... the reasoning is simple. Either stay off the road or come prepared (all wheel drive, snow tires, two spare tires, and have lots of time). Years ago, the pass closed and so google maps gave an alternate route that was virtually impassible for most vehicles. Very rough dirt road with an 8% grade. Lots of folks got stuck and just left their vehicles. The last one was towed away just this summer

It's not 1999 but it's still a nice song for new years eve... damn, that was such a disappointment at the time, we were drunk and all ready for the promised apocalypse, counting down the seconds and waiting for all the lights to go out... and then... nothing.. it all went on just like before.. but maybe this year will be different, good things will happen next year...
