Interesting topic although your analysis is flawed and completely wanting.

The fed cannot raise interest rates to 12%.  This can't happen and it is in fact the problem in a nutshell.  Here's why.

If I told you I want to borrow $1000 and I am willing to pay you 2.5% interest on the loan over 5 years would you be well-advised to provide the loan?  Examining the current inflation rate and the anticipated inflation rate well above that the answer would clearly be, "NO!!!!".  After repayment you would have LESS buying power.  US Treasuries are basically government IOU's.  Selling Treasury bonds to the public is the preferred method of raising funds to cover government overspending.  Why?  Because it doesn't increase the money supply for the term of the loan.  Why?  Because for every dollar the government borrows and spends there is one less dollar in circulation because dollars got removed from my account to purchase the bonds.  It isn't until a later Congress has to pay me back (with interest) that the money supply is impacted in any way.
 

As an incentive for the public to buy bonds the interest paid must be higher than the inflation rate to entice wise investors to buy. When the interest doesn't exceed the rate of inflation the government has trouble selling the bonds. So they turn to the Federal Reserve who is required to buy the bonds sufficient to cover the governments overspending to keep the government ledger balanced. Yes, even the US government must balance its ledger, even if it has to do so by forcing the fed to buy they bonds as the "buyer of last resort". However, this is an entirely different situation.

What happens is the US Treasury prints up a bunch of Treasuries sufficient to cover the overspending and balance the ledger. They deliver these to the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve then credits the US Governments account by merely adding a number into a computer spreadsheet of the governments bank account. This is known as "monetizing the debt" and is essentially equivalent to just printing the money. The actually money is printed later on down the road after the government spends it and the receiver of the payment goes to the bank to withdraw the cash. But the effect is the same as the money supply immediately increases when the government monetizes the debt. Massive amounts of overspending by Biden was monetized in this manner and resulted in the current inflation we see today.
 
 

So why monetize the debt? Why not increase the interest rates above inflation to say 12% as you proposed would happen. The answer to that is, the government owes over 30 Trillion now and rising fast. If you increase the rates to 12% from 0.25% like they were before the inflation then the government will owe an additional $3.6 Trillion per year. US Government revenues from all sources is only about 4.3 Trillion and even that is already above the rate of maximum government revenues. And 12% wouldn't be enough as the real inflation rate is between 15% and 18%. In other words, in order for the government to entice people to accept its IOUs it would have to set the rates such that the federal governments budget could be 0 and not cover the amount owed in today's dollars. 0 as in no government services of any kind, not even defense, unless it is donated or the labor gifted to the government.

So they may increase the rates to stave off inflation and bankrupt the government in the process, or they will keep rates low prolonging the inevitable until hyper-inflation exponentially drives toward historic levels. Same thing has happened before in Zimbabwe, Chile, Argentina, Russia, Venezuela and many other ill-run countries.

We should be curtailing all unnecessary spending on an emergency basis.  And it may still be too late.  Instead Biden is spending and monetizing debt like a drunken sailor as we careen towards a financial cliff at 200 mph.
