That would be a very weak combination, and easily defended against. You would be off balance. As you are winding up your left hook, leaving your whole left side exposed, a skilled fighter would break inside with a flurry of of body punches and perhaps a sharp kick to your right knee/shin on the way in, finishing with an uppercut to your chin and then whatever else opens up.RunningWithScissors » 04 Sep 2022, 10:38 am » wrote: ↑ No, i'm a righty, but left is coming out of nowhere, and then straight in the mouth.

Well, there is a pizzeria across the street, run by real Italians... or so they say...RunningWithScissors » 04 Sep 2022, 10:42 am » wrote: ↑ You're gonna mess with a ny'er on pizza?
Really? ok...
But you win... lol... the best I can manage is half a pizza from the freezer...
Also makes you slow on your feet, old man. You would be better served to get some of these so you can bounce out of the way of the fist storm that would be flying at you....nuckinfutz » 03 Sep 2022, 9:53 pm » wrote: ↑ I wear Wellington Motorcycle boots, perfect for curb stomping!![]()

Yes, if you are tall, then you would be wise to not let the fight make it to the floor. Tall people also have long powerful legs, and knees, and elbows. You'd want to keep an average height or shorter guy on the outside. That way you can pick your time for good solid head shots. If you are a righty, then you might use kicks and snappy right jabs to keep him on the outside, in combination with your left cross or a left hook, for the power shots. If you have nice, long hard elbows, then I'd work in some of those across the guy's face.RunningWithScissors » 04 Sep 2022, 11:06 am » wrote: ↑ You're right, that would be a weak combination against a skilled fighter.
So I'm tall, and I would use a jab and str8 rights to keep them away, assuming no wrestling. My power will overwhelm them in a str8 up fight.
In a wrestling match, i'm at a disadvantage because I'm tall.
So the Thor strategy is no good? No wonder he can't beat Superman...Skans » 04 Sep 2022, 11:20 am » wrote: ↑ Yes, if you are tall, then you would be wise to not let the fight make it to the floor. Your biggest mistake is thinking that your power is going to overwhelm anybody. Those guys, the ones who are planning to use their "power" to win a fight also make the biggest mistakes. Power is good. Stamina is also good, but a little bit of skill goes a long way. Big, unskilled guys typically throw wild, wide-open haymakers, with a squared off stance, each time leaving lots of tender parts exposed. I remember one weight lifter I used to hang out with always advise me the way to win a fight is to run at the guy and use both fists like a hammer right down on the person's head. I let this go, because it's a ridiculous strategy. I invited him to spar with our group, but he would never take me up on it.
