Appeal to authority logical fallacy. Nazi doctors also followed science infected with political ideology. Made some great rockets but I wouldn't trust their opinion on jews any more than I trust woke doctors opinion on gender. Gender dysphoria is still listed in the DSM as most lgbtqrstuv people should be. It is absolutely the issue. Sex is biological, gender is social/cultural. Don't like the way somebody else chooses to live their life? Too ****' bad. Unless they're clinically psychotic, which non-binary people typically aren't...we discuss issues that need to be resolved.

Problem is woke progressives conflate sex and gender. Gender norms are social differences between male and female. The issue arises when one believes they are a member of the opposite sex, not just adopting cultural mannerisms and behavior not conforming to their sex.
