My dad who flew 84 missions in a P47 [[with the 405th FG [St LO Belgium] before he was 22]].....taught me the samething about religion.

Your dad was part of the greatest generation (an overused phrase for sure) but still pertains to the real heros before our time. I only wish people today realized what these people sacrificed for us.

I think Golden Retreivers are in a league of their own too.
Too bad they are so expensive. So ridiculously expensive.There are no finer dogs to watch over your children.
My girl [OLD YELLER] was only $160 at the Animal Shelter and I think a much better choice than supporting careless Breeders who use inbred dogs to make a living.

As a citizen of "The Horse Capital of the World" I totally get this. I see these beautiful animals on a regular basis.

Damn dude. He died young. My dad passed a year and a half ago at age 89. I miss him everyday. He never served in the US military but I made up for it by spending more than six years, including time as a Vietnam era veteran.

My dad was flying a P-51 after the war with the ANG one afternoon over Alameda when one of the landing gear legs refused to lower down into the locked position. He had to raise the other leg and belly land the plane in the grass off to the side of the runway at 100plus mph and that was the last time he ever flew.

Dad also sat next to a very excited guy on a commuter flight one day [in the late 1960s/ early 70s] who wanted to talk about a new TV Show he had been filming about WWII.
This guy really got interested when Dad told him he was a fighter pilot.
Dad thought this guy was really special and very interesting
The guy Dad sat next to was Bob Crane......

I've owned several chow mixes - husky chow, collie chow and shepherd chow. Owned a tri-breed - aussie pop, husky.shepherd mama. The only other dog of legend I was associated with was was a full blood dachshund with champion blood lines imported from Germany. Don't laugh - that dog was a 30 pound land shark with champion blood lines. No varmint of any stripe had a chinaman's chance within a country mile of that beast. But he wasn't strictly my dog. He was my granddad's dog - though I dug the hole and shed the tears, cuz by the time the dog died at 14, my granddad had passed.

My 1/2 Golden Retriever Girl..."DUSTY" would report to me with urgency if she thought my son was doing something that she didn't approve of.
