already existed during the 60's. I went there as a teen with a few buddies. Went to a shoe shine booth run by some spades; they lit my shoes on fire and charged me $ 20 for the flame job! Around the corner saw a woman being raped! Not far away was the Elllay County jail, a horrible place to be! They tossed me in there for a 'minor with an alcohoilc beveridge' charge. In a cell with six hardened criminals; one was a murderer fugitive, others in there on '**** charges' like mine. I was only 18, and kinda scared. Called my dad to get me out of there. For years, I had nightmares about Ellay County Jail.
