The Colt AR 15 semi automatic weapon was not designed for the military/battlefield.  

The fact of the matter is the source of the citation (which you never read) does not list that weapon on the list of military AR rifles.

Yes...the citation makes clear that the AR-15 and M16 are of the same family.


It then goes on to describe what defines said family.

The Armalite 15 is a fully Automatic Weapon.  The Colt Sporter AR 15 is not.  As I said, go to the source of the citation, where I directed you, and show a weapon in the military list with a selector that only has S-1.
