Jim Morrison and Lowell George, both ended up drunk, morbidly fat, and dead (although as much as the booze it was the speedballs that killed Lowell George).  But there was a difference...

Lowell George...
1.  Was a great musician, one of the great slide guitar players.
2.  Was a fabulous singer.
3.  Wrote great songs.

Jim Morrison was an excellent frontman with a great voice.  He was a smooth blend of Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley.  The Doors had a few truly great songs, Love her Madly is their best

Subjective as music tastes are, I like to have atmosphere set by it.
Lyrics are a far second tier for me.
This explains in large part why I find rap to be complete talentless ****.

So, The Doors were that until destroyed by overplay.
That ruined whatever ambiance they once generated.

I used to wish I was a talented musician but I find there's value in just appreciating it.
A couple of my buddies are good but their critiques of bands are often based on technique.
They have lost that sense of ambiance I'm talking about. We've talked about it.
I can listen and enjoy and they pick apart the drummer or production values.   

Like your post focuses on things around the music: drunk, fat, dead, etc.
All very understandable.
Mine is an ambiance that is memories, mood, etc... and burn out due to overplay.

All subjective. Maybe rappers are talented but what they offer, I don't want.

Zombies represent the other. They are mindless, unable to be reasoned with. Not particularly dangerous as individuals, they represent a threat when in large numbers. It is an attempt to normalize violence against "the other", whomever those pulling the strings decide that might be.

The proto zombie movie was actually a terrible sanctimonious book/movie by hg wells called 'things to come.'

It was made before ww2 and was about some world War that lasts over 20 years and causes humanity to decline to the dark ages. 

Anyway during the war a new sickness came out causing people to just wander around like zombies with outstretched arms.

Anyway long after the great decline of humanity a bunch of arrogant scientists started traveling the world trying to convince people of what they are doing wrong. And the great secret to ending war according to hf wells was the eliminate the concept of a sovereign state. The whole world should be ruled by scientist technocrats who know better than us how to do things.
