Did any of you watch the Georgia - Tennessee game a few weeks ago?  No 1 Georgia played No 2 Tennessee.  Georgia had home-field advantage.  Tennessee played the same damn game it had been playing all season using the "hurry-up" offense against Georgia because it worked in every game they played to that point.

But, Georgia's coaches studied this and prepared Georgia for Tennessee's hurry-up offense.  Tennessee kept beating their head against Georgia's defensive wall for an entire half, before it lost a lot of points to Georgia and figured out they better change something up.  In the 2nd half, Tennessee did better, but not good enough to stop Georgia from getting a decisive victory.

In the Republican Primaries, I already know what Trump's play book looks like, and I know Trump will do pretty much the same thing this time around if, as expected, he announces he's running.   The question is, have any of the other Republican contenders been studying Trump's plays?  Also, do they have the skills and fortitude necessary to beat him?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and talk about the strongest possibility - Ron DeSantis.  DeSantis is a competent governor - he's done a good job for Florida, and they like DeSantis.  But, let's talk about Ron's weaknesses:
  • He nearly lost to Gillum - a gay, socialist black man that no one ever heard of.  He was mayor of a small town in Florida - Ron, how did you let it get that close on your first shot at Governor?
  • DeSantis is not the crowd-motivator that Trump is, not by a long shot.  He can speak well enough, and he can answer questions directly.  While he has proven he can walk the walk, DeSantis can't and doesn't talk the talk!
  • DeSantis seems not to be strategically inclined.
  • Democrats have big bank rolls - what kind of money does DeSantis think he can raise in a Presidential campaign - I think it's going to be on the low side.
  • No one is a diehard DeSantis fan who will stand on street corners and attend rallies like the awe-inspiring Trump can get his followers to do.
  • At least Trump has a game plan; If DeSantis has one, I haven't really seen it yet.
  • How is Ron going to handle a pissing-match between he and Trump?  Get down in the dirt with the Junkyard Dog? That's a sure way to lose.
I leave you with this question to ponder.  What's the best way to deal with a Junkyard Dog?

Yes he nearly lost to Gollum but now jump 4 years later and he won 62 of 67 counties including Miami Dade. As far as pissing contests I think DeSantis handled the recent comments by Trump well. Pretty much blew it off and gave them not much attention.

As far as a game plan a potential candidate has to be careful on how they discuss their intentions as far FEC rules are concerned.

As far as money we will have to see how pissed the GOP is at Trump.  If they truly are money won’t be a problem.  If they aren’t, well of course it is,

First off, let me make embarrass @Blackvegetable  again. Hey Veghead, in case you ever get around to wondering what it means to have thoughts of your own, take a look at this OP. No links. No copy/paste. No hiding behind any media outlet. No insults. Just pure level 2+ thoughts. **** idiot. Retard. Loser. Scumbag. Piece of ****.

Good question. DeSantis definitely has these weaknesses. However, none of these weaknesses relate to his governing ability. Sadly, the 'appearance' of being presidential tends to take priority over governing ability when it comes to voters. That's how Ovomit won the presidency twice. He was great at appearing presidential, but he couldn't govern for ****. If America looks at this election as a pissing-match only, then Trump will win. However, if America wants someone who can govern  and lead, then Desantis will win. This goes for the dims as well. The left in this country are too **** stupid to vote for anyone intelligent. They voted for a senile pedo for God sakes. They are already hopeless.

Ok Veghead, go on and post your links, your 500 questions/demands, and make sure that you say "you are a **** idiot."

DeSantis had momentum due to the extremely competent way he ran Florida through Covid. He will not be able to rely on that in campaigning to citizens of other states who know nothing of him.

Thank you, Vegas. Look at Kari Lake.  Her ability to take a question, answer it directly and craft a poignant narrative is masterful.  Yet, she lost Arizona.  To Katie Hobbs, a glorified social worker, no less!  How did that happen?  Whoever thinks they are going to take on Trump better damn well have the correct answer to THAT question.

It really is a reflection of America's reasoning abilities. The less intelligent ones prefer to have emotions to take precedence. The intelligent ones prefer those who aren't flashy with little substance. Unfortunately, because those who can govern and lead tend to be less memorable, they end up losing.

Yea...she told a narrative entirely divorced from truth.

Assertions without evidence, as usual.

I would ask for you to back up these claims, but we both know how you are with answering questions.

There is a pathetic effort to make of Grifty something he isn't.

Your response is weak. It's pretty much useless.

Then again, you don't have much practice in thinking on your own without CNN/Bloomberg. So, I can't expect much else.
