So what if Apple restricts the Airdrop file-sharing capabilities on phones it supplies to China?  Apple is in the business of selling phones.  It is not in the business of spreading freedom to Chinese people living in China.  If it does not restrict this capability, China will simply not allow Apple phones to be sold there. As far as I'm concerned, Apple is doing exactly what it should be doing - complying with foreign laws to sell its phones in foreign countries.

China has never been a free country.  Whether under Imperial Rulers or Communist Rulers, its the same **** country being run by a race of people who are genetically very similar to one another. It is basically @FOS  's paradise.

It's freaking stupid to think Apple is going to tell Xi Ricedick to go F- himself.

It's not a foreign law...it's oppression.   Real laws come from democracies...dem party not with standing.

Americans are **** spoiled as hell. Maybe we all should go without some of these small luxuries. It isn't just Apple. Our economy tells these companies to go overseas by buying their products. Profit margin isn't just about money, it also provides information about Americans. The information says that Americans are spoiled and entitled as hell. Most of our society is so dependent on these phones, and other technology, that it makes me wonder what percent of the population would survive without it.

China can do what China wants, including telling Apple what kinds of phones it will allow to be sold its citizens.  Hey, I've listened to some of the talk radio pundits try and make some kind of big deal about this too.  While I was listening to one of them, I thought "so what?".  And, I thought some more.  Then, realized this their position on this is total ****. 

The US dictates all kinds of things companies will or will not do to its products "in the name of safety" if they want to sell them here in the US.  For instance, brake lights can't be attached to a tailgate that moves up and down. If European car manufacturers want to sell their cars here, they must redesign and comply.  Recall the VW emissions fraud, and what the US did to that company!

China has sovereignty over the Chinese living in China.  Unless you are for a one-world government where everyone has the right to tell Americans how they must live, Conservatives are really barking up a bad tree on this issue.
