It's not a gun problem.  It's a murder problem.  Murderers will murder for many insane reasons.  Bad families.  Bad childhood.  Video game influence. Many other nonsense reasons that make no sense to the sane. When society actually starts putting the responsibility on PARENTS to raise children who will contribute, rather than harm, society, then we will begin to solve the problem.  Things that contribute to bad parenting and thus bad children, teens and young adults:

• drugs / alcohol
• violent video games
• no parent at home to raise the kid
• kid being raised by government, institutional "teachers"
• bastard children
• divorce
• sedentary living
• low or no self-worth - lack of working and contributing
• welfare / ssi / food-stamps

The bottom line  - people who cannot conscientiously raise good children should be penalized severely for having them.  As in forced sterilization and immediate loss of all parental rights.  Society does not need to try and "rehabilitate" bad parents.  The cure is out there.  Unfortunately, you and others have no stomach for what it really takes to stop this nonsense.

I would want the teachers and staff to have guns, and trained to shoot them. 

As for people "wandering" into a school - that's the school's complete f-up, isn't it.  From the design of the school to the staff who runs it.
As for a STUDENT being able to bring a gun to school - that's on the school, the parents of the gun-toting student and the student himself.

We already have enough gun laws.  Laws that say:

• No one under 21 can have a handgun
• No one under 18 can have a rifle
• Laws that prohibit firearms in schools
• Laws that punnish those who commit murder.

I am not willing to strip good, honest gun owners of their constitutional rights just because irresponsible parents produce **** kids. In fact, good honest gun owners need to become much more vigilant, because there is an epidemic, perpetuated by government, of **** people creating **** kids. NEUTER and SPAY the offending procreaters, and kill the murderers promptly.  I would go so far as to brand a huge M on the faces of parents of murderous children.  Watch how quickly school shooting stop if we do just that!
