siteprice.org is way high compared to several other valuation sites.

On average I'm seeing between $400 and $750 as the going value of the liberal forum.org website.

This site on the other hand, is hanging steady at around $1500 across the board.

I'm sure the longer .org stays down, the lower the value will go.

Personally, $1500 is a bit high to me. But that's just me. The site not only has a reputation for going offline regularly, it's been down for a month currently. Gonna be hard to build on that.

I would say $500 tops, and then only if I had a way to make it self sustaining and possibly even turn a little profit.

At the end of the day, anything's "worth" depends on what the buyer is willing to give for it.

I've thought about using the peanut gallery function and even the thread pin.  Mostly I just forget, but there are a couple of things that inhibit me using the features more.  One is that trolls just don't bother me - occasionally I even find them entertaining, and they bump your threads for you - so, it's all good.  The other, with pinning, is that you end up making the board suffer through some crappy topics. Everyone hits a dud-topic once in awhile, which deserve to drop rapidly into oblivion.

Well, the pinning function and the PG function are particular points of pride with me, as we are the only board in all of hyperspace to offer that kind of demoratized empowerment to a community.

Sounds kind of ***, put in those terms - but it's pretty cool in the real fake world of cyberspace.

Maybe Isabel could buy it. I haven't seen her around here for a while, but I had her removed as a moderator years ago from that sight and she blew a gasket. I had access to the PM's once. It was sad to see actually.  That mod position was weirdly important to her.  She created new user names and argued with other posters about it.

Don't get me wrong.  They are excellent features.  I'm glad they are there.  I simply haven't used them yet.  Maybe I did try to pin a thread once, I don't really recall.
