The White House is part of MDW BUT is a separate Command.

The Secretary of Defense's office is in the Pentagon.  He can not call the WH and tell a high up Presidential staff member to report to Ft Myers because I need a General to act as the Commander of the day.  He could call and say...Captain.,.send a member from the WH Honor Guard to my office...I need a door knob polished.

A military officer assigned to the WH (0-5 +) would be out processed by members of the MDW Milpo. (where I worked)  And he / she / it would (probably) be accommodated and a detail would be sent to the WH or the Pentagon. (The detail: E-7, 71L, 75D and a 64C)  Any officer below would have to report to the Milpo.

When I worked there it was (I think a 0-5 and above) could just walk in and get served. Any officer below had to have a open window appointment and had to wait for his / her / it's number be called.  A Captain came in and DEMANDED to be taken care off RIGHT away.  My friend (aka Pops a 71L or 75D) told him you need a appointment and you need to wait until your number is called.  The Captain told him I am giving you a order.  My friend told him I really do give FK about you or your order.  The Commanders office is down the hall 3 doors...go report me and Pops walked away.

Pops (a Black super soldier who was having a bad day) was later told by his section chief...I backed you 100% BUT next time...no four letter words. OK !  That was what the Commander was mad about.  The Commander told the Cap to follow SOP and if there is nothing else on your mind...you are dismissed.

The difference from Trump you numbskulls can't seem to grasp is Biden is making no claim the documents belong to him; there is no reason to believe he even knew they were there. He didn't claim, "Oh I declassified them after I became President". He instructed that all classified documents be immediately returned to the government. So there is no reason to play hardball.

1.  you anecdote is irrelevant.   AdC's for the President are not in the MDW chain of command.  They are, of course, in the SecDef's chain of command.  
2.  The rank of Captain means different things in different services.  moron.
3.  Senior officers use slang all the time.  the "football" is a commonly used term to describe the Presidential Emergency Satchel.

I was stationed in MDW (Military District of Washington) and use to superficially talk to Vietnam veteran officers every day.  I wish I have been able to gone deeper but could have been called in to see the boss; if I tried and the officer didn't like it.

I saw Caspar Weinberger at the Pentagon...if I said anything BUT HELLO SIR to him...I could have ended up peeling taters. 

I saw Lyn Nofziger at the Pentagon to...I think if I spoke to him I would have got in trouble for wasting my breath.

I am an 80 year old retired military type.  I served in 'Nam from Jan of 68 until Nov of 69.  I was a high level staff communicator cryptographer... among other things.  Even though all that was decades ago you will understand if I will not speak about code changing.  Suffice to say it is done on a regular basis. 

Those who talk about Biden knowing what nuclear codes are are fools.

When I was in Korea, my squad leader was a Siagon Doucment MI . He was fluent in Vietnamese and could also speak Korean. He told he went on a mission in Laos as a 11B just for the experience. I asked him so what did you do ? He told me I can't discuss it but let me put it to you this way...l never VOL'r for a mission like that again.

He also mentioned we were in Laos long before the American people knew it.
