Of course they would.  And, why shouldn't they?  The folks working for the Eff Bee Eye have the right to speak freely too - well, they might lose their jobs, but that's about all.

What constitutes a mass shooting?

The most accepted definition establishes a mass shooting as any incident that involves multiple victims of gun violence. "Victims" are both people who are killed and those who are injured by gunfire. Typically, four people have been injured or killed for the incident to qualify as a mass shooting.

I accepted the above attempt at defining a mass shooting some time ago. However, they always seem to not count the injured for qualifying as a mass shooting. My point is....if only three had been killled, and 7 injured, this would have been reported as a shooting.

What is true is that the Republican party is pro-life until someone shoots up a school.  Then it's just thoughts and prayers.  They glorify guns and bullets but ignore the victims of the gun.

oh there are plenty of guns.  Anyone can get a gun.  Doesn't matter anymore.  Kids are just collateral damage.

I also think that the numbers can change depending on who is doing the math.

We have become a nation of self-absorbed sheep.  We refuse to take responsibility for ourselves, and demand someone else do it for us.  SO many who support gun control and gun bans also support stripping police of funding for training/recruitment/equipment, and letting violent criminals out without bail.

If Americans actually took responsibility for themselves, pursued training and knowledge in self-defense and effectively armed themselves, we would see a lot more societal predators choosing to avoid confrontations.  Mass shootings would drop precipitously due to these cowards who don't want their would-be victims shooting back at them choosing not to pursue their murderous agendas.

Oh, and the kids??  PUT PROPER SECURITY PERSONNEL IN THE SCHOOLS if you don't want them to be "collateral damage"!!

Spartan, I respect your opinions.  Locally, police forces across the country are doing their best within the laws and regulations to make our schools safer, but nationally, nothing ever changes.  I personally would welcome well trained security at every school in America.

Yes, police forces are doing their best, but they're being undermined at every turn.  The law enforcement officers are being thrown under the bus for every half-baked rationalization.  They are scrambling for funding to do even the basics, and experienced officers are retiring or just quitting in droves.  No one ever became a cop to become rich, of course, but there was a time when a good agency would back a good officer who followed policy regardless of what political wog got offended by it.  Now, we have places that are letting criminals accused of crimes up to and including murder who are being released without bail, and they're back on the street before the arresting officer has finished his paperwork.

You're right that nationally nothing changes, because politicians don't give a rodent's derriere about their constituents.  They brazenly lie, make ludicrous promises, and the people keep reelecting them to another term of grandstanding and doing nothing of merit.  George Santos is a joke, but he's the unsurprising result of decades of people shrugging their shoulders and saying: "Well, politicians lie."  People dismiss all wrong-doing by those who claim the right political ideology while they rail angrily against the exact same wrong-doing by those with the wrong ideology, and they refuse to see their own hypocrisy.

Yes, It is.  I had this crazy hope that January 6th would have given Congress the understanding of what the rest of America is facing with violence and disinformation, but nope.   

I will go you one further.  There is almost no coverage of when a mass shooting was stopped.  It's been happening quietly over the country for a while now and no one is saying much about it.

Right??  The legacy media flatly REFUSES to cover any instance of a citizen stopping massacres in their tracks.  It's despicable.

Death toll in in Monterey Park shooting rises to 11

The death toll in the mass shooting in the predominantly Asian American city of Monterey Park, California, rose to 11 on Monday. The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services said Monday that one of the four people from the Monterey Park shooting being treated at the LA County-USC Medical Center has died of gunshot wounds. The department's news release said one of the wounded patients was in serious condition and the two others were recovering. Authorities said the initial death count from Saturday night's attack at a dance studio was 10, with at least another 10 injured.
