A fire Department does NOT have any authority over your ability to make a choice in life. It was given the sole authority to save lives from fires. The PEOPLE of a community have given CONSENT for that to be established with ONLY ONE PURPOSE IN MIND!! AND you have an OPTION to call them or not. YOU CHOOSE!!maineman » 28 Jan 2023, 10:17 am » wrote: ↑ Is this a true statement or not: The United States government derives its power from the consent of the governed? True of False

Nice dodge. The form of governance chosen by that confederation of states is a representative democracy. We elect congressmen and senators to a central federal congress who writes the laws that govern us ALL Whether or not you happen to AGREE with any of the laws passed by that representative democracy's legislative body or not, you are still bound to obey them.Beekeeper » 28 Jan 2023, 10:25 am » wrote: ↑ It's NOT a "Representative democracy" DUMBARSE!!
It's a REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLICAN CONFEDERATION!! EACH State is a sovereign within itself and those States have the CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY to dissolve the Federal Government AT WILL IF THEY CHOOSE TO.
It must really suck that the short bus you rode on failed you miserably in actual American History and Government.

So Classified info being LEFT LAYING AROUND so Hunter could PROVE he was "the smartest man I know" and get that $83,000 a month Burisma (Ukraine) job!! WE HAVE THE EVIDENCE!! Now it's TIME TO PUT THESE TRAITORS IN FRONT OF THE FIRING SQUAD!!
And 10% "for the Big Guy" who ran the operation in the first place and it's none other than TRAITOR JOE BIDEN!!
On April 13, 2014, Hunter Biden sent an email to his business partner in Burisma, Devon Archer. Now, he sent this a week before his father, the vice president, flew to Ukraine to meet with Ukraine's prime minister. In the email, Hunter Biden composed a detailed memo with nearly two dozen data points about the political and strategic situation on the ground in Ukraine. What's so immediately striking and Miranda Devine pointed this out, having read the entire laptop, is that this email bears no resemblance to anything else we have that Hunter Biden has ever written. In fact, it sounded like something produced by the State Department.
There's no question that Hunter Biden used classified materials to assemble this email. Listen carefully: "The strategic values to create a land bridge for RU to Crimea," he writes at one point. Notice he uses the diplomatic abbreviation for Russia, RU, because he's in the know. "That won't directly affect Burisma holdings, but it will limit future UK exploration and utilization of offshore opportunities in particular." "It will also," Hunter Biden added, "further destabilize the UK nationally and for whatever government is in power and the US will respond with even stronger sanctions. Those sanctions will threaten the tenuous support of the EU, which does not have the political will to incur steep energy price increases" and so on.

A fire department has the authority to put out a fire in your house. You pay money in the form of taxes and the government uses that money for the benefit of ALL the citizens, but that benefit is only realized when one's house catches fire. If you live your entire life in a city, and your house never catches fire even once, then all the tax dollars you have paid were money thrown away from your perspective. Except, in the "village" we live in, taking care of each other's house fires with a mutually funded fire department is the way that the majority of the citizens of that village deemed appropriate. If you don't LIKE the idea of paying for a fire department, you can move to some unincorporated piece of land that is NOT protected by the fire department. Similarly, we do not expect every homeowner in a city to be responsible for getting out and shoveling the snow off of the street in front of their individual house. It works better when a larger organization, funded by the mutual contributions of the villagers, plows the streets for everyone. Similarly, it would not be cost effective for every home owner to have to purchase his own CAT SCAN machine... so we have hospitals and health care delivery systems for that as well. If you don't WANT to participate, move.Beekeeper » 28 Jan 2023, 10:29 am » wrote: ↑ A fire Department does NOT have any authority over your ability to make a choice in life. When GOVERNMENT has control over ONE or more aspects of your life in which you have NO CHOICE to participate or not and have NO other alternatives, you have established a SOCIALIST FORM OF CONTROL. PERIOD!! Government controls the means of production (your healthcare) and also will control the WAGES of those who provide care and also control YOUR choices for treatment. Care to explain how that is NOT SOCIALISM under YOUR very own definition??
You're an idiot. A STATIST SOCIALIST idiot at that.maineman » 28 Jan 2023, 10:32 am » wrote: ↑ Nice dodge. The form of governance chosen by that confederation of states is a representative democracy. Our elected representative are democratically chosen. We are therefore, a democracy (small "d"). We all don't vote on every bill in every local, state, and federal legislative body, therefore we are a representative democracy (again, small "d"). And the people we democratically elect, help to administer the Republic (capital "R") in which we live.Beekeeper » 28 Jan 2023, 10:55 am » wrote: ↑ You're an idiot. A STATIST SOCIALIST idiot at that.
I'll go with one of those that happened to BE THERE AND PART OF THE FORMATION of this nations Constitution. NO WHERE did anyone say "Democracy". Not even in the Constitution is that word uttered. REPUBLICAN IS!!
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

Show me where Hamilton and Madison called us a "representative Democracy" in the Federalist Papers. NOT to be found anywhere. They abhorred "democracy" and never thought of this nation in ANY LIGHT that it would ever be called on of any sort. So...we are a representative democracy that has chosen, democratically, to form ourselves into a constitutional republic.
And we ain't socialist..... but if we ever DID decide to become socialist, that would be done by a majority of those citizens voting on the question... and all those who disagreed, would be issued crying towels. **** babies.
We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism."
I could give a **** what Madison or Hamilton THOUGHT about democracy. The fact is, small "d" democracy is defined as government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system. And the specific form that the people chose was a Republic. We elect representatives to the governing body (congress) under a free electoral system.Beekeeper » 28 Jan 2023, 1:13 pm » wrote: ↑ Show me where Hamilton and Madison called us a "representative Democracy" in the Federalist Papers.
