31. Why not make it an even 100??

Doesn't this feel good ??
U.S., England, France, Germany, Poland , & Norway on the same side.
Doesn't this feel ....."just right" ??
Mr. Putin,

tanks are not very useful in modern warfare. They are far too easy to take out from above and from anti tank weapons.

Prior to December 7th, 1941, the mood of the United States was isolationism and non-involvement in the Wars in Europe and China.Selaphobia » 25 Jan 2023, 5:38 pm » wrote: ↑ If the USA is going to spend all that money, I prefer it be spent on fixing the US Border or other issues at home.
Let the EU pay for it. It is in their backyard, not mine. The USA has no money to be giving away. We are running on a deficit.
You have no idea what you are talking about. The M1-A2 Abrams tank is designed to run as fast on "bumpy" roads as it is on paved ones. The fact it is ON TRACKS means that "bumps" are not creating any ride quality issue and along with the independent suspension system across all the track rollers, assures that no one gets their teeth jarred out of their mouth. Add to that, the Abrams tanks has been used MORE than effectively in several "modern" theaters of war and proven one of THE most effective armaments on the battlefield.walkingstick » 26 Jan 2023, 2:53 am » wrote: ↑ m1-abram tanks can go fast over super smooth roads. but less than 1 mile per hour over bumpy surfaces. even there, the people in the tank have their teeth jarred out. and they sink in mud. m1-abram tanks are sitting ducks in modern war.

"Try to get past your passionate ignorance and learn to accept what actually happened." ~ brown's unheeded words of wisdom Actually it's not. 30 days and they will be fully operational. You have to consider that ALL of the older M1-A1 Abrams are being completely refitted with new armament, newer armor, and also newer aiming hardware and software, that there are HUNDREDS of them ready to roll right now.
The only thing that would feel right is turning off the TV news programing, chucking the microwave walkie talkie cell phone in the trash and moving into a well stocked fallout shelter.Taipan » 25 Jan 2023, 12:41 pm » wrote: ↑ Mr Putin,

Power is derived from a Honeywell AGT1500C multi-fuel turbine engine developing 1,500 horsepower mated to an Allison DDA X-1100-3B transmission. Specifications include a top road speed of 42 miles per hour and a top off-road speed of 30 miles per hour - in this respect, it was not uncommon to hear Abrams tank crews describe their mount as the "Cadillac of tanks". The power-to-weight ratio is listed at 24.5 hp/metric ton while suspension is accomplished through use of a torsion bar assembly. Range is reportedly limited to 289 miles.©MilitaryFactory.comBeekeeper » 26 Jan 2023, 6:54 am » wrote: ↑ You have no idea what you are talking about. "Try to get past your passionate ignorance and learn to accept what actually happened." ~ brown's unheeded words of wisdom That's a lot of technology to dump into the laps of the Russians. I mean, if we don't have American tank operators, are we not simply handing over at least some of these tanks to the Russians? I would hope that all of them, at a minimum, have been equipped with self-destruct capability via satellite.ROG62 » 26 Jan 2023, 8:42 am » wrote: ↑ Power is derived from a Honeywell AGT1500C multi-fuel turbine engine developing 1,500 horsepower mated to an Allison DDA X-1100-3B transmission.
