Senate Democrats have been after Thomas for months concerning these age-old allegations, and Paoletta is simply saying that all this had already been reviewed and dismissed. It looks more and more like another witch hunt, which appears to be a colossal waste of time. While the country suffers from very real problems, Democrats are digging up decade-old issues that had been laid to rest.

Maryland funeral home owner kills rival funeral home pallbearer at funeral for 10-year-old, police say

The Prince George’s County Police Department claims Wilson Chavis gunned down a rival funeral service operator Tuesday afternoon. The victim, 30-year-old Ronald Steven Banks of Washington, D.C., was helping carry the casket of a 10-year-old girl when he was killed.  “Those individuals are affiliated with a second funeral service company with which Chavis has a long-standing business dispute,” police claimed.

The alleged shooter’s company was handling the service. Several people attending the funeral reportedly became upset with Chavis when he addressed his rivals. That’s when cops say he killed Banks and fired a second shot grazing a female attendee.  “I’m so traumatized that this happened at my daughter’s burial site,” grieving mother Antionette Belk told NBC News4. “It’s trauma after trauma.” Belk claims Chavis yelled “I own this body” and spat on a preacher before opening fire. The preacher was the dead child’s uncle.

According to Belk, her family had “nothing to do with” the parties involved in the conflict at her daughter’s funeral service.  News4 reports the girl was killed last month when a bullet hit her family’s car while they were returning from a Mother’s Day celebration in Washington D.C. Police believe the killing was unintentional.

Accused Crack-Smoking Councilman Now Charged With Child Molestation

Matthew Reilly, a 41-year-old Republican was arrested Thursday morning on charges of first-degree child molestation/sexual assault, second-degree child molestation/sexual assault, and enticement of a person under 16, police said. The molestation investigation began about a week before the councilman’s recent drug arrest, following a complaint to police by the legal guardian of a 12-year-old girl. Reilly, who did not enter a plea in court on Thursday, was ordered held without bail.

The bust comes just three weeks after Reilly was brought up on drug possession charges for a May 15 incident in which a passerby thought they spotted the first-term councilman, lawyer, and youth soccer coach choking in a parking lot. Responding officers found an unconscious Reilly behind the wheel, amid drug paraphernalia, a lighter, and a “white, rock-like substance,” police said at the time. He was booked and released, pending a June 15 court hearing, and resigned two days later.

Last year, amid ugly divorce proceedings, Reilly’s estranged wife submitted filings in court that included text messages purporting to show him dosing their children with sleep medication so he could leave the house and have late-night sex with a law client. The filings, which were uncovered by GoLocalProv, also alleged Reilly conspired with his client-cum-sex-partner to falsely accuse his ex-wife of violating a no-contact order.
