Son found naked on top of mother’s decapitated body

Jeffrey D Surgent, 46, called 911 on Friday afternoon to report he ‘had just killed his mother’. Cops who arrived at 6th Street in Ocean City, New Jersey, found him in a hallway outside his apartment lying on a beheaded body that was identified as his mom, Alexandri M Surgent, 74.
Alexandri’s head was a few feet away in the hallway.

Legal papers said: ‘A short time later, Jeffrey Surgent is seen peeking out from the apartment, then pulling his mother’s body into the hallway. While being arrested, Jeffrey screamed multiple times that he had killed his mom and was sorry. He also began singing Jesus Loves Me, the affidavit says. Jeffrey has been charged with first-degree murder, refusal to submit to fingerprinting and weapons offenses.

He told cops that he suffered from mental health issues, which the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed. Jeffrey had bipolar disorder, The Press of Atlantic City reported.

Police say a drunken driver smashed into a building, then left a debris trail leading to a bar

Police officers in Slidell were dispatched Saturday night to a building where a vehicle had smashed through a wall next to the front door and then fled the scene. No one was injured, the police department said in a Facebook post Sunday. The driver left a trail of shattered glass, transmission fluid and auto parts that officers followed on foot, the department said. Its post said they found the damaged vehicle outside of a bar and the driver sitting at the bar inside.

Officers arrested the driver, whose name was not released, on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vehicle and hit and run. No injuries were reported. “Situations like this are why we will continually urge you to have a sober ride home,” the police department's post said.

A Utah mother who ran a YouTube channel with two million subscribers has pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse.

Ruby Franke, 41, came to a plea deal with prosecutors after allegations that she was starving and abusing her children. She was arrested after her 12-year-old malnourished son escaped their Utah home and pleaded with a neighbour for food and water.

Franke said she pleaded guilty "with my deepest regret and sorrow for my family and my children". She will testify against a former business partner and collaborator. The former YouTube star wore a white and grey-striped jail jumpsuit as she entered her guilty plea in court on Monday. She is scheduled to be sentenced on 20 February next year.

"Franke's son told officers that Ms Hildebrandt put ropes on his ankles and wrists before he escaped her home in August, according to court records. The boy had to be taken to the hospital "due to his deep lacerations from being tied up with rope and from his malnourishment", officials said. Franke's daughter was also found malnourished and taken to a hospital once authorities were involved.

Beyoncé's Childhood Home in Houston Catches Fire on Christmas Morning

A couple and their two children escaped the home uninjured, according to officials. As reported by KHOU 11, CW 39 Houston and Fox 26 Houston, which cite officials, the fire occurred at about 2 a.m. on Monday at the home, located on Rosedale St. A couple and their two children who lived in the residence were able to evacuate safely before first responders arrived, and no injuries were reported, Houston Fire Department (HFD) Chief Justin Barnes told KHOU 11.

Firefighters who responded to the scene within minutes saw a fire coming from the home's second story. It took about 10 minutes to contain the blaze, HFD told Fox 26. Firefighters had to cut the roof of the house to be sure that the fire didn't spread.

McDonald's restaurant closed down after customer allegedly finds crackpipe in drive-thru order

Alex Mendoza said that security footage and interviews with employees didn't provide any evidence that suggested the item came from the restaurant. His franchise company, the Mendoza Company, says it owns 20 McDonald's in the Columbus area. 

Franchise owner Mendoza said: "As a local business owner, the safety of my customers and crew is my first priority, and we take this very seriously. The restaurant will remain closed until January 4.
