Mitchel Yoshiji Miyashiro turned himself in to Honolulu police at about 6 :30 p.m. Thursday and was arrested on suspicion of collisions involving death or serious bodily injury, collisions involving bodily injury and first-degree negligent homicide.

The question of how someone with a record of 164 traffic crimes and citations and no driver's license was able to get behind the wheel of a car in Hawaii remains unanswered.

He was released while police continue their investigation.

The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office has released video footage, accounts from witnesses, and 911 calls in connection to the fatal shooting of Andre Hernandez, 13, by San Antonio Police. At the time, Andre was driving a stolen vehicle, a red Toyota Corolla....

...“These facts led Officer Ramos to believe that Officer Espinoza was being threatened with deadly force.  Thus he used deadly force to prevent unjustified harm to Officer Espinoza...  However, Andre’s family, their lawyer, and an activist from the area argue that the Toyota wasn’t moving with sufficient speed to put the officer’s life in danger.  (Mack notes that is so Fn funny it is pathetic !  It wouldn't have killed him...he just would have to have his leg cut off because it was crushed beyond repair.)

They add that Officer Ramos would have been able to see that several children were in the vehicle. ...The DA memo called the death of the teen a “tragedy”.  But the document added that Andre’s age “was not known by Officer Ramos at the time, nor does it mitigate the threat to Officer Espinoza”.

A deputy arrived at the residence and made contact with Powelson’s older brother, referred to in the document as “the victicm. 

The victim told the deputy that he had been sitting in his reclining chair in the living room of the house, when he saw that his brother had eaten a piece of Key lime pie that “he was saving.  The victim became upset and an argument ensued,” deputies wrote in the affidavit.  “While sitting in the chair, David [Powelson] emptied two large glasses of water on the victim. The victim feared [Powelson’s] aggressive behavior would lead to him being physically harmed and or killed.”
