It is a **** to shoot. It is a side-by-side.
Way simpler yet. Exposed hammers will rip your gut out if you hold it low.

I think you could hold the butt against a guy's head, fire it into the sky, and it would knock the guy out easily.
The recoil is no fun.
I've seen a short-barreled version of that gun.  Sort of a re-make of an older side-by-side. Cool gun.

Assuming it is like the browning...you open up the gun, grab 2 shells by putting your thumb behind them...then when loading you stick them in at a slight angle and level it out. Them close then shoot
The "old" Brownings, the better ones anyway, were the Belgian made Superposed. These did not have an automatic safety to disengage, but I believe you could select which barrel fired first, at least on some of them you could.   My understanding is that most of the O/U's made after about 1990 had automatic safeties. Even the Russian made Baikal's had this feature.   You would never know that the safety engaged just by pushing the lever to crack open the barrels. So, anyone shooting a fairly common double-barrel 12 gauge would have to know about the automatic safety, distinguish it from the barrel selector switch and know how to disengage it.

I know that most folks wouldn't be aware of this stupid "safety feature", unless you're into double barrel shotguns. But what I find appalling is for that idiot Joe Biden to act like he knows how to use one of these, proclaiming all anyone needs is a double-barrel shotgun.  I guaranty you that M-Fer couldn't figure out how to use a typical double-barrel made in the last 30 years.

Side-by-Sides are perfectly fine, but there is hardly anyone who would use a SxS for home defense (coach-gun mentioned earlier is an exception).  Remember, we're talking about what Joe Biden recommended for self defense.  Typically, European shooters prefer SxS's.  But, even they are mostly moving to O/U's over the past 30 years or so.

If you go into any gun store, you likely wouldn't find any SxS's for sale.  Probably won't even find any O/U's unless they specialize in that kind of thing.   Everything will be semi-auto or pump. Many really old SxS's are unsafe to shoot and have damascus barrels. New ones (if you know where to find them) are priced for aficionados and collectors. While you will see some reproductions, I consider these odd-balls, not for novice shooters.

Yes, mine is 20" of lightweight finger busting.
The only way to not hurt yourself shooting this is either be a 300 lb behemoth or shoot it hanging loose from the waist. Let your arms take up the kick.
Even then, hold tight or the triggers or trigger guard will chop into your fingers.

It's a pissed off little mule! ;)
Please seat yourself.

If you think your coach gun is fun to shoot, then try this:

Looks fun.
But you don't get the busted fingers and hammers in the gut that I crave.

This is a long thread, too many pages for me to read.

Did anyone explain how it works?

Is that "Hardwar3" even a real gun or just a concept?
My Judge is nasty enough with .410ga.

A 12ga pistol would be a **** wrist problem...

Other than somebody mentioning a safety (which can vary gun to gun) this is close:

I've discussed this some with others.  I came to the conclusion its simply preference and what is typically used in the circle of friends/family with whom you shoot.  The SxS folks (mostly Europeans) claim the positioning of the barrels mimics the positioning of your eyes.  I don't really know - all I've ever shot were O/U's - and I don't claim to be any expert at that.

all good and well.  If you find either one, the sxs will be about half the price of OU.  Who's gonna spend double(no pun intended) for home defense? there are plenty sxs out there.

No one really buys SxS's anymore. If you do, then your name is Joe Biden and you are totally out of touch.

Do this from the perspective that you are holding a bunch of shotgun shells in your pajama pocket, and you need to use them and this gun to ward off an intruder.   It is a double-barrel shotgun like the one Joe Biden famously says is easier to use than an AR-15.

I like 20 ga OUs, but 12's are too boxy, give me a sxs 12 any day.
then again 20 ga sxs are kinda handy also.

Wrong.  That is not how it works.  Both you and Joe Biden should never give out gun advice.

Are you European?  Because, Americans don't typically shoot SxS's
