The Democratic party has allowed itself to become ruled by an Old guard which is no longer in touch with reality. Biden was nominated because it was his turn. Hillary likewise. That is a terrible reason to nominate someone for the presidency. The Democratic party should do away with superdelegates. It is the super delegates who are responsible for this. It is a fundamental flaw in the party.

If they changed, they would lose their identity - they would no longer be the Old White People's Party.

that depends on two things.  If on the first session Hochul has to hold a special election.  If in the second it depends on how close to the next general election.

Each state can determine its own timing and circumstances of the election. In the state of New York, Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul would have 10 days to call a special election to replace Santos, which would have to be held between 70 to 80 days from the date of that proclamation -- if Santos resigns this year, during the first session of a Congress.If Santos resigns during the second session of Congress, the amount of time between the vacancy and the next general election would play a role. Unlike the Seventeenth Amendment, which allows states to temporarily fill a vacant Senate seat before a special election is held, the House Vacancy Clause does not give states the same power in the House.

He won in a democrat district. His resignation virtually guarantees a democrat from his already dem-friendly, now humiliated constituents. So even if hochel ISN'T appointing the next guy, his absence trims the already thin majority.

I wouldn’t argue that.

Republicans worry about rich peoples money. If they had a meaningful plan to help I might be more enthusiastic. We will lose revenue with tax enforcement.

I do vote in the Republican primary and my former Governor Larry Hogan is a champion of fiscal responsibility here in Maryland. I really think he would be very good at THE job.

I've always said, I'm a 1-issue voter.  Guns.  If I had to give a **** about any other issues, next would be the border and illegal aliens.  Next would be reducing the budget.

Freedom and guns.  Guns and freedom.  If I could do something about all 3 of the above, I would.  So far, you haven't done **** about any of this either, so STFU.
