It's more about being able to separate the wheat from the chaff.

If you pay attention, they will usually tell you the truth at some point, even in a very slanted segment. Of course some will just flat out lie as well.

I also try to read about anything I'm interested in from both sides of the aisle, and then come to a conclusion about the truth somewhere in the middle.

I think Hillary Clinton was expecting a passing of the crown and ran her election on that premise. Even Donald Trump was surprised he won. The post mortem does include the Russians and Cambridge Analytica. It's undeniable that Putin had a strong dislike for Putin as Hillary did for him. Remember when she misspelled "reset" when meeting with Lavrov? I think there was bad blood, not specifically a mens rea of Trump that contributed to that. To say "it was the Russians" is probably oversimplifying.

Jon Stewrt did brilliant take downs of fox news. He called out their **** and shone a light on it - he pretty much single handedly destroyed their reputation. The rest of the media was just an echo chamber - it was Stewart creating the content, and the content was brutal.

It was not until later that normalizing pedophilia, dividing america by race, gaslighting us about the virus, and a host of other nefarious agendas became evident in the rest of the media.

I've shown you the evidence. You're free to keep guzzling the cbs koolaid. Everyone has the right to see B.S.

I really have no problem with people who are conservative follow conservative viewpoints. They are just that however. They are viewpoints. I personally get most of my news from magazines that are pretty coastal but I find them a lot more inquisitive then some of the right wing sources out there. I guess the real problem is that some sources say they aren't bias when they actually are since eliminating bias is an incredibly difficult thing to do.
Television was extremely careful in two instances that swigged elections. First was the very subtle tip towards Reagan in 1980. That was a game of inches for the big networks that controlled information. The second of course was the Clinton email scandal that probably tipped the election for Donald Trump in 2016. Hillary was a much weaker candidate than expected but many still blame her loss on Comey.
Hillary actually got 3 million more votes than Trump. Her E mails were of no real importance. Trump swore he would put her on trial and "lock her up".
He did not even try. There was no case.
Reagan made a secret deal with the Iranians to not release the hostages  until Carter left office.
The hostages were taken because Kissinger urged Carter to keep the Tehran Embassy fully staffed.Kissinger was acting in harmony with Exxon. Carter should have withdrawn the hostages.  Because of the hostage crisis,Iranian oil was removed from the supply chain. Exxon made billions.

What is a "coastal"  magazine?  I agree that you will find more objective reporting in The Nation, the New Yorker and In These Times than in the American Review or the  American Spectator. I think they are headquartered on the coast as well.

How do YOU know?

She deleted them
And once deleted, then how were they harmful?
There was no evidence that any of her messages harmed anyone.

Trump claimed that he was going to put her on trial and "lock her up".

I use the word "coastal" to describe the places where most of the editing and authorship of fairly mainstream magazines are published from. I read Wired too, so that magazine I consider more Western coastal in the form of Silicon Valley. They aren't outright leftest propaganda but they also don't necessarily reflect the viewpoints of more heartland points of view. You can't really get that except from more faith oriented news sources and most of the right wing posters on this board would probably outright reject most of the viewpoints expressed in the magazines I read.

Here's a few examples where they have proven themselves enemies of the country by pushing false narratives, lying, and suppressing the truth in order to influence political opinion and elections... The consequences have been costly.  The motive is to discredit & destroy one political Party while protecting & promoting another which shares their own views... Like I said, here's just a small sampling -- we can morph out from there..

           1. Russia Gate., and all the lies that went with it trying to prove Trump as a Russian operative.
           2. Hunter Biden, the Lap-Top and much more regarding his business involvements.
           3. The Steele Dossier.
           4. Origins of the deadly Wuhan Corona Virus, along with all the misinformation tailored to put all liability on the Trump administration.
           5. Border Control Officers whipping migrants & asylum refugees crossing our Southwest border..
           6. Their coverage of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, George Floyd etc which lead to nationwide rioting which resulted in loss of lives.
           7. Their coverage of Kyle Rittenhouse, where every piece of the false narrative was dismantled in court..
           8. Here in Florida the lies told about the Parental Rights in Education Bill --- which the MSM and Co repacked as "Don't say Gay" Bill.

The Mueller report found no proof of collusion between the Trump Campaign and Russia... Now, Mueller did try to leave obstruction on the table as he slithered off with his tail between his legs -- and that allegation also collapsed.. What we have since learned regarding much of what was asserted by the Democrats & Left about such Collusion went down the **** when the Clinton initiated & funded Steele Dossier to  was completely discredited...
