Cheap labor = enormous profits. 

At first, it was almost free labor: enormous profits and industrial progress. 
After war, blacks got paid slave wages, compared to the whites: enormous profits and industrial progress.

None of this has anything to do with slavery.  America was not built on the backs of slaves.  The fact that you are going into what blacks did or didn't do - post civil war, shows me that you and I are really not in disagreement on this essential fact.

How so? The slavery mindset was still alive and well. Just because they were free doesn't mean the that society thought their place in society was equal. Lincoln made some great speeches about it, but that's not what happened. I am trying to explain that it was slavery that instilled the idea of blacks being unequal into the minds of employers. Again, legally they were no longer slaves. But socially they were.

No one was responsible for their "slavery mindset".  That's on them.  They didn't come to America "equal in society".  They were essentially no-skill, non-educated, laborers. Lots of people weren't treated fairly - the Irish, Chinese, Jews, Italians, Germans, Swedes - ****, you could go on and on about this. 

Society was much harsher back then - free men were responsible for their own.  If you couldn't make it, then you and your family starved. This wasn't only for Blacks.

We keep going around and around about that. The whites were unskilled and uneducated also. I said that about 600 times now. 

All things were equal, except their status.

• Whites could speak english and were more skilled.  Blacks had no skills.
• Women didn't get paid the same as men either
• Irish couldn't find jobs
• Chinese immigrant workers didn't get paid the same as whites.
• Once the Blacks were freed - America, from that time forward, was not built upon slave labor.

Some spoke some unintelligible form of English.  Not all black slaves spoke English.

Getting paid more than blacks is not equivalent to America being built on the back of Slaves.  As I said, Men got paid more than Women too.

There were 5 million dirt poor whites in the South just before the war broke out. They spoke like 3rd graders. No different than blacks. Most couldn't even read/write. They had no skills either, nor were they educated. 

Doesn't matter that women were paid less than white men. Blacks were always at the bottom of the pyramid and made up most of the tough labor like building the railroads, hammering the iron for the steel, and other factory hard labor tasks. And yes, the South still had factories, they weren't completely nuked.

It's been 6 generations since slavery ended, the only noticeable black advancement has been due to interracial marriage and the subsequent genetic improvement.

What farming is needed living in the tropics where food is always in season. or tribes migrated with the animals each season. Nomads, hunter gathers. wow you really don't venture beyond a specific talking point while preaching 6 degrees of separation during a two sided debate on a singular details over and in the past as quick as it arrived..

We inherited our wealth off the back of hard working Americans I'll say.

You clearly know nothing of the South.  The pre civil war South was agrarian. The economy was heavily dependent on agriculture and farming. People worked on large plantations to grow crops.  It was far less industrialized than the North. Whatever little industry there was, it was completely destroyed during the war.  As were the large plantations.

You need to research before you make these claims. They were not completely nuked. If they were, then everyone would have migrated to the North. Yes, their economy was ruined. However, many former slaves, like half, stayed with their former masters to continue to work 9inj the fields. They were just paid...very little, but still paid.

The south was not an industrial economy like you indicated.  It was completely agrarian.  Nothing in today's USA was built on the backs of slaves.  Nothing.
