My issue with the call was that it negated any shot of the Eagles having time left after the Chief's scored to get the ball down the field after the fact and at least end the game on an exciting note.
The unnecessary flag effectively ended the game with a minute plus left. After the Chiefs got the first off the flag, they spent the last minute and some change trying not to score, as to run the clock out and win it with a field goal.
What was, up to that point, and exciting and entertaining game, ended flat as a pancake... because the official threw a flag that (I think) he really didn't need to throw.
That's my take on it, and I'm sticking to it.

Defensive holding is probably one of the least called infractions in the game as well, which makes the fact that the ref thought it was a good time to call one, even worse.

As far as the call is concerned, late in a game, particularly a playoff or SuperBowl game, penalties typically have to be flagrant or at least glaringly clear. This was a borderline call.
