You can't catch transgenderism like a cold.
The reason more young people are coming out as transgender is because it's more accepted now.
At least it was until Republicans decided to demonize it to use for their own political agenda.
Instead of dealing with the real problems this country faces, they are scaring the begeezus out of parents who believe that their children are being 'groomed' to want to change their gender, and that some mad doctor is going to whack off their body parts.
In years past many transgender people were afraid to come out because they were demonized.
Republicans are now trying to roll back the clock on progress once again.
Social progress is especially scary for them.
They would prefer to live in the 1950's.

The **** it isn't. I guess it's just amazing happenstance that kids raised in lgbtqrstuv homes are statically likely to become members of the community themselves. That's over 50% of kids in such homes identifying as some flavor of sexual deviant. We are grooming kids to join these communities.
