I think with us it had to do with our parents close friends, then is was by first name, where Mr Hedlund was of the older generation and the old man thought it garnered that respect...RedheadedStranger » 25 Feb 2023, 9:24 am » wrote: ↑ We were allowed to use an adult's first name under the condition that 1) they were okay with us doing so, and 2) we always included a Mr or Ms in front of their first names.
If you ever messed around and called your own mom or dad by their first names, it was whole different thing though.
It's a Southern thing.

I went to public schools in the South during the 70's and early 80's and we were taught extensively about slavery, the Civil War and it's after math, reconstruction, Jim Crow, the KKK, Emmett Till, the Freedom Riders, MLK and the Civil Rights movement, etc etc... all in American History classes.
Hell, my High School was even named after a famous black man... In Alabama no less.
Perhaps you leftists Yankees up in **** were the REAL racists then too huh, because I know you are today.
You don't promote CRT as an educational tool to teach history, you promote it as a wedge to keep racism alive because it benefits your political party to do so.
The only thing you assholes would be happy with is if every public school teacher was instructing children on how black folks and Latin folks, and Muslim folks, and gay folks and trans folks are all subhuman scum.
minds like yours won't exist when reasonable doubt loses its power of suggestion.
Those would be the older people who still call racial intermarriage miscegenation. Well...it's bad news for those people since today, the United States' mixed-race population is growing three times faster than the general population. The main premise of the game is to carjack automobiles and run from the cops... and your player can assault rob and kill anybody they come across in the meantime with any assortment of modern weaponry at their disposal. And if the cops or some other thug kills you in the game, then you just respawn and start again.
And we wonder why carjackings, robbery, and assaults are skyrocketing among the under 30 crowd... when they grew up on video games like GTA.
Three of the GTA series games are at the top of the all time best selling video games in the U.S. as well.
Go figure.
