My son served in the Navy and after a twice extended tour of duty in the Middle East lasting almost 11 months he came home to a broken marriage. Shot and killed himself 3 days later.

@Squatchman  why are you mocking parents of deceased service members? Do you HATE those that served?

What are your thoughts of mocking dead soldiers or family members?

people on here (and previously at dot org) routinely mock me and claim I did not serve.  Why should I, then, believe someone else's claims?  It's a goose/gander sort of thing.

I’m sure @maineman  would love to chime in as he’s done frequently.  

There’s others too but obviously their comments speak volumes about them and really nothing about me.

seems isn't actually mocking his son, just how his son's dad, was an example for him.

@maineman  I am not buying the goose/dander copout. If you truly served you know as a this is not something to joke about and would have ignored it.
Sounds like maybe you are not the best example of a "Naval Officer"?

And you use his suicide to gain sympathy and make others look guilty for insensitivity to your loss of a child, you were usually to stoned to care about when he was growing up.

I think that might be more of where maineman was coming from. not that I think maineman is one to cast stones at another person's glass houses, or social house of cards betting nobody knows the specificity of eternally separated now.

If you won't accept life in plain sight, why should everyone else believe anything you say on what makes tomorrow better than evolving forward here now?

see I can empathize with Str8Edge's loss as a nephew of mine killed himself doing an act of stupidity stunt riding on a freeway that devestated my sibling for the rest of her life, but sympathy for him, not a chance.

Good morning OMH.  I realize that you see yourself as some sort of mystic oracle.  I fully support your right to feel that way because It makes you feel good.  But be forewarned, Doubters like me exist and may not be so kind to your special kind of "special."
