Ideally history includes everything that has happened in the past everywhere. This includes the amount of lint in your dryer and the number of birds that sit on the electric lines in front of your house.
This is totally impractical, so all history must be selective, so the lint and the birds will not be included unless they cause some other event to occur.
It was the announced goal of the United Daughters of the Confederacy to glorify the Confederate actions and to deliberately ignore the unsightly actions of the Confederacy. They were what could easily be called the Unwoke Squad. And they were quite successful. They were behind many of the snazzy Confederate statues erected around end of the 19th Century and the beginnings of the 20th.
They were honored for spreading mistruths with a postage stamp.
They were behind most of the claptrap about how the Civil War was caused over the issues of "States Rights".

There are plenty of other sources for the truth. The Tulsa Race Massacre was white brutality.
I don't care what someone looks like. I care about their actions. I like people that have charity for the less fortunate.
Russians are committing war crimes and killing their Ukranian relatives. There is no black or white involved.. Is all grey area.
