A TAX CHEAT always gets caught since they are BREAKING THE LAW!!

MOST people who pay less taxes are using TAX LAWS to their advantage to PAY LESS IN TAXES and that is PERFECTLY LEGAL!! It called TAX AVOIDANCE and is why no one goes to prison for AVOIDING PAYING TAXES LEGALLY!!

The Rich pay taxes - plenty of them.  How about we actually tax EVERYONE!  There are too many people in this nation who just want a "free ride".  Everything should be taxed, including: Food Stamps, SNAP, free school lunches, SSI, welfare, student loans that aren't repaid, minimum wages, a politician's political contributions.  The **** who get away with freeloading in this nation are the these people.

And, because I have a caffeine headache, and your ugly mug just pisses me off, I want to tax the homeless who are living rent free on public sidewalks, in public parks, on public land and in shelters - at least $15/day for every day they have used these public facilities.   If they can't pay their taxes, then they can work off their debt to the government.

They CAN get caught if they cheat, but most people find this difficult to do, because their income has already been reported to the IRS.]
Most big tax cheats are people who get paid in cash or in some other way that does not involve deductions to the IRS.  People who are paid by the job, like movie actors, professional boxers and wrestlers, lawyers, doctors, dentists, landlords, real estate buyers and sellers.

I have never paid to have my taxes done, I have always done them with a tax program. I have never been audited.
People complain about how difficult it si to do their taxes, but the hardest part of just getting all the forms and other paperwork.

The IRS is understaffed, and I do not think that they have the personnel to bother with the average wage earner or even investor.

How is it that you liberal morons can never understand that a business will not simply sit around and accept higher taxes placed on them?  They move to other states or out of the country, or simply raise the prices of their goods and services to cover the additional cost.  Or were you unaware of those facts?

Does it make a difference to you if you pay more in tax or if you pay the same amount in higher costs when you buy the higher priced goods you need?
And IF you actually succeed in getting another few billion in tax revenue for the government by raising taxes on the rich, WHAT IN THE WORLD MAKES YOU THINK THEY WILL LOWER YOUR TAXES WITH THAT NEW REVENUE, AND NOT SIMPLY SPEND THAT ADDITIONAL INCOME ON MORE STUPID ****, LIKE GIVING IT TO URAINE or in more benefits to illegals?

Try using your head for a minute and you might just grasp how dumb your "solution" really is!

Clearly, you never owned a business, never had active real estate investments and never engaged in complex private equity structures.   Getting a W2 from an employer and buying mutual funds on etrade is easy Turbo-taxville.

You are correct, but this is true of most citizens.
Most of the people that complain about how difficult taxes are could easily use a tax program and pay zilch. instead, they go to H&R Block or some other tax preparer.

Once I had an investment in a gas drilling company called Kelley Oil. I think I made about $300.  But the tax code was so complex and confusing I simply did not declare it. I figured that if I owed something, they would tell me.

And nothing happened.

I used Turbo-Tax for a couple of years, so I know what its all about. My tax situation got too complex for that. In fact, I had some older business partners who sternly told me I better start using a CPA. They were right. I also married a woman who had her own career going on, and her tax situation just added to the headache.

I don't disagree with you about H&R Block, for the most part.  However, they too have become a bit more sophisticated over the years.   But, for most, it's just a lazy way of doing your taxes.

I don't understand why it would be so difficult to declare $300 from a gas drilling company.  They should have issued you either a K1 or a 1099 if they paid you out anything.  Otherwise, you could simply voluntarily report the $300 - I probably would have just reported it on Schedule 1  - Additional Income.

            The majority of people who are paid in cash (or a substantial portion of their income) tend to be poor or working class... Here's a few of the jobs they do for cash under the table, or partially off the books.. There are tons more... You let us know if these folks are the "BIG TAX CHEATS you speak of... The biggest Cash Transactions I can think of is when we sell a Boat, Car, Motorcycle, RV or some other Vehicle... The only Cash $Millionaire  jobs I can think of off hand is Drug Dealer, Book Makers, Illegal Gambling, Organized Crime rackets etc... 

1. Babysitters, Pet Sitters, House Sitters.
2. Valet Car Parkers.
3. Gratuity based jobs such as Hostess, Waiter, Bartenders etc who receive very small reported incomes and the bulk of earnings in cash.
4. Your neighbourhood guy who cuts lawns, rakes leaves, and other yard work.
5. House Cleaners
6. Handyman
7. Tutors.
8  Vendors at flea markets..
9. Catering,  Personal Chef.
10. Food delivery drivers
11. Renting out a room in your home .
12. Local musicians, entertainers, DJs, artists etc.. 
13. Barbers (with the Red-White-Blue pole out front.. Not the *** salons where Liberal men go)
14. Junk / Salvage Scrappers.   
15. Car Washing, Pressure Cleaning, House Painting.    
16. Hired Drivers.
